Take 5 Oil Change

First time and last time.I was tight for time and was hoping for a quick and painless oil and filter change. I’m regretting my decision now. On Dec 3rd I took my car in for an oil and filter, never had issues with oil service light or leaks in the past as the work was done by other shops. I brought my own specific synthetic for the make and my own filter. Upon telling the tech I wanted to use my own oil he twice tried to sell my their own oil. About a week later my on board oil level sensor goes off, indicating oil level is low. I’m confused because it’s never done this before. I look under the car and there is a noticeable leak. I call the local take 5 where the ‘work’ was done and speak to the manager. He tells me to come in. When I arrive he says he remembers my car and says the oil pan was compromised when he last saw the car (but didn’t tell me.) So he quickly gets the car in, has a look underneath, confirms it’s the oil pan, and then asks one of his techs to top me off and then send me on my way without charge (immediately leaving me suspicious something wasn’t being disclosed properly). So I called a reputable repair shop for the make of vehicle and ask for an appointment to replace the oil pan and gasket. The technicians reports just came back and the oil pan and gasket, surprise surprise are perfectly fine, there is however significant damage to the oil filter housing now from improperly sealing/connecting the new oil filter. And oil is covering much of the engine requiring the technician to dismantle and clean the components.What a waste of time and money

Went here to get my oil changed before heading back to Ontario. The staff were very friendly. I was in and out within 15 minutes. Very impressed with the service I got. Keep up the great work.

High pressure sales here. They just keep trying to up sale everything. And if you have a skid plate, make sure you check to see if all the bolts were put back in they tend to forget them.. Would not recommend this overpriced place

Wish I could put less than one star. Messed up one of the only services they offer by adding new oil on top of our old oil. Over 50% too much oil causing it to overflow into our spark plugs and causing engine misfires. Isn’t the first miss ether just overly negligent. Skip this business if you value your veichle

Great staff. Quick and mostly efficient. Cashier forgot to apply my discount. Failed to provide me with an invoice prior to payment. I assumed my discount was applied because we talked about it. I recommend this business.

Worst place to take your car for service. Unexperieced mechanics dont know anything but a terrrible oil change job. Wish there was an option to give negative star rating.

My Wife went to get an oil change on our van. When she got home I changed the winter tires, I noticed that the oil filter looked old. At closer inspection Take 5 just wiped off the oil filter, and didn’t change it. They won’t do a refund. Stop scamming people, I will never go back to take 5 oil change Charlottetown location
