This place is Brutal. The Veterinarian is arrogant and patronizing, they overcharge for basic services and when we declined to buy the SUPER expensive specialty food he recommended, he called us and told us that they had closed our charts and we were no longer welcome to bring our animals there anymore. We now happily drive to a vet in Smithers, even though it's out of the way because they actually treat their clients with respect.Avoid this place if you can!

I was on a family trip to Terrace when my 13 year old husky fell ill. I knew she was not going to make it back home so we had to make the hard decision to put her to sleep. I was very grateful that they made time in their day to see her so that she did not have to suffer any longer. It was a very difficult time for my family and I am grateful for their compassion and patience.

Compassionate vet helps me and my boy find peace.Couldn't get in earlier at my original vet, but Skeena accommodated us to ease any suffering. Thanks for your compassion and understanding.Thank you for fitting us in despite having a busy day.

My experience with Skeena Animal Hospital happened a week ago and I'm still so upset about it that I decided to leave a review. Last week my partner and I woke up to my 13 year old dog wake up and vomit blood and mucus. Our dog is healthy for his age and he has regular check ups so this was extremely scary. At 6:30am I'm trying to find an emergency vet anywhere I can find one. We finally decided to make the drive to Terrace with the hopes that someone would look at a clearly very sick animal. I thought we were losing him that morning. We arrive at Skeena where we stood outside of this large window with my dog wrapped in a blanket. All three staff could see us and were ignored. I had been crying all morning and they could see that we were distressed but could care less. I understand that it's Covid and there is protocol but come on. When we were finally 'greeted' by the nurse, she came out and asked what we wanted, I told her what was going on and she asked if we were clients where we explained that we had just relocated from Alberta in the summer. She then told us to back away and go back into the truck and we could call them and they would take our information because they already had booked appointments and that's all she would do. She also told us to drive out of their parking lot because their other clients would be arriving soon. Let me express the utter lack of compassion from this woman. I was shocked at how mean someone could be to another human. As a person working with animals, you'd think there would be an ounce of any feeling whatsoever if a pet owner is worried that their dog was that sick. Now here's what I hope the owners of this vet see: When we finally got o see a vet, we found out that our dog has an extreme pancreas infection. His enzyme levels were literally off the charts and he could have died. This vet clinic is horrible. I see that there are many great reviews and maybe the actual doctor is fine, but the front end staff are the bottom of the barrel when it comes to any kind of customer service or compassion for animals. To the nurse with the short, grey/brown hair, what made you so miserable?

Dr Sager, Trina, and the rest of their team have been nothing but supportive in caring for our dog!! From check ups to surgery, they take the time to explain everything and follow up post treatment. They truly give the best care to patients and we will continue to thank them for all they do!!

Really not happy with this veterinary clinic. He has been the vet for my 10 year old Australian Shepherd / Bullmastiff since he was a pup.We recently found a lump on his side and tried to make an appointment. He said because we haven’t been there in the last year he doesn’t know if he wants to take him anymore. Well, if that wasn’t enough. He proceeds to say, “he’s a big dog, I don’t know if I want to pick him up and put him on the exam table.”What?!?!My partner said he has no problem doing it for him. They then say, “We will call you tomorrow after we consider taking him in.”No call, this is disgusting!I’m assuming as one comment mentioned,He has closed his patients file without informing us.I have a landline with the same # for 17 years. No excuse for this.Response #1Not one call nor message left on my vm. There was no need to avoid you as you state. Also, don’t you have privacy contracts?I had not visited your office, my partner had and there is no need be so offended as read in other posts as well as mine. As for your reason of not taking my big dog, you also would not see my cat for vaccines or neuter.I feel you are spiteful. If someone is downtown and decides to pop in, so be it. Most places have their doors open to people these days.Either way, he was your patient and for your 3 excuses to get us out of your face is not professional. And yes! We have found someone who cares about the huge lump on my family member.Thank you!

Dr. Sager and the ladys there are wonderful. Had an emergency visit with my 90lb baby and they took her right away. They are very caring people and my dog absolutely loves them all. Not nervous with a big dog in the slightest they all treated her like one of their own. I'm very impressed with them all and thank you all for everything. We will continue to go here over anywhere else. Worth the drive from kitimat!

I want to thank, Dr. Sager, Lucinda, Trina & staff of Skeena Animal Hospital, for the 20 plus years of caring they gave to me and my pets. Their kindness and excellent care were always exceptional. When I look back, it meant a lot to me to have had consistent veterinary care for them. From when I first adopted each pet into my life, they where there with guidance on their diet, medical insurance, then through each of their lives for spaying, or neutering, also each one had their own medical problems. Then in the end when I had to make the very difficult decisions to say good bye to each one of my pets, again they were there. Saying goodbye to my pets was very heartbreaking, but the compassion, & understanding that the staff at Skeena Animal showed to me helped me through those difficult times. Sometimes small things make lasting impressions… like the kindness they all have shown. They leave behind warm feelings and grateful memories that will never be forgotten.” I highly recommend this Veterinary Clinic to anyone with a pet :)

I don't take my cats to the vet as often as I should for all their shots. But I'm thankful to Dr Sager & Trina over the years with the care I have needed.
