I must say that 'Chris' probably knows this store inside and out.. anytime I can't find something I always look for him.. yesterday I was doing an Uber shop for a customer and I couldn't find a specific jelly spread, his first question where does it originate from' Italy I said

I try to get here when I can as they have quite a few deals above and beyond. The store has always been consistent with keeping their shelves well stocked and offer rain checks if needed. They have even advised me of price accuracy for the few items and saved me money a few times too! I give them Two thumbs up!!!

I don’t understand how this store only have one cashier available most of the time and customers have to go through self checkout and on top we have to handle with the employee on top of our back always looking at us making us feel uncomfortable and make us look like we could steal something. Please make available more cashiers it is more comfortable and we as a customers don’t work for food basics. Thank you

Thank you Quintin at Food Basics, Mary St. great customer service. The staff, stockman are always helpful and courteous,cashiers, ALWAYS ,greet pleasantly. However, I have noticed recently, the shelfs not stocked, Friday, afternoon ,before 3'oclock, out of Dempster Bread, (No Salt No Sugar) , this is popular seller?, this has happened more than once. The store, seems messy and in disarray , the shopping cart area floor dirty, the carts sometimes do not pull out properly. Unbeknownst to me today I had a cart with BROKEN WHEEL, thankfully I made it to check out safely!. I have noticed this disorganized atmosphere in the past month. Hopefully this store will get back to being run as it was precovid ,during covid.,because it has the best staff.

Update: I supply my house every week from this place, however prices are becoming surprisingly high! From one week to other same product has different prices depending on the week, it is becoming unsustainable to buy anything from here. Employees are always in a bad mood and not very nice to customers specially the cashiers. They look at customers like”I hope she can pay all of that”, judging. It’s start to become uncomfortable to go this place. They could be more polite and kind like they use to be. Not sure what happened. They are rude, judgmental and now expensive to buy groceries so we can try to survive.Ridiculous.Update April: $20 for A whole chicken???? This place is out of their minds!! I think it’s time to start going somewhere else since they are taking advantage of being only food basics in the neighborhood!

Everyday after work I try getting to the store in time to buy a full BBQ chicken and it seems that those chickens sell like hotcakes because there is never any left by the time I get there, that's some pretty good eats there I'll tell you.
