i went here once with a friend of mine! the food was amazing! the portions are very generous too! the service was really good! i think many people underestimate good quality of service this location brings to the table. Also, the building is very well maintained and clean! even with it's high expense, i would 100% recommend! the experience you get is totally worth what you pay for!

Edit: We finally tried Host India in person after only ordering online for the past five years (we would order very frequently)and I am absolutely shocked at the experience of dining in. I wouldn’t say the restaurant was clean nor was it welcoming. The lady that showed us to our table was rude and didn’t care that the table she showed us to had used tooth picks scattered around. Our table was was filthy even after requesting another one. The bathrooms seemed like they haven’t been cleaned in years. And the service was lacking. The quality of the buffet items surprised me the most as when we order through Uber, we were always happy with our order. When replenishing the buffet, I witnessed a staff member handling the food after itching his head.Initial review: Host India is one of our favorite Indian restaurants in the city. I find the food very authentic and just the perfect amount of spice. I’ve tried numerous items on the menu and everything tastes delicious. My favorites are the butter chicken and the biryani. We mainly have take out and the portions are large and well presented.

My partner and I found ourselves in Ottawa Ontario. Earlier in the day we walked by an Indian restaurant in the city center and both were inspired to have some Indian food.Well we later found ourselves having to stay in Ottawa and looked for a place near our hotel.Host India has good reviews and we went there.Walking in the door we could smell the incredible mix of spices and food being prepared.It is like we walked into Mahabharata epicThe Chicken Curry was incredible and the spicy Lamb Kadhai was just perfection. Served with fresh Naam and Tandoori Paratha to mop up the curry.Highly recommend

As always food taste great, it's not the first neither the last time we come but the chicken biryani & lamb curry taste to dy for - amazing not to spicy & well seasoned. The same goes with both dessert & bread Robuz" - Roti..bon appétit!"

The food was delicious and the portions huge! It was my first time eating there so didn’t realize that a single order of rice was more enough for 2 people. It did take almost 30 minutes just to place an order even though the restaurant was mostly empty. I will go back for the buffet (we ordered a la carte) only wish I lived closer so delivery would be an option

Unfortunately they have really rude server that works there. This young lady was rude to the max because she could pronounce the name of food and I'm not. Not there to learn a language but to eat and be well served. Also, we were in a large group and they were rude to the kids( they barely ate and we have to pay a full price buffet)and kept saying they will close soon and took all the food from the buffet. The owners are lovely people, not sure why they hired this not friendly, rude to treat the customers like that. Just because she also the same culture as the restaurant? Not going there anymore to eat. It's a shame because we were long time good customers .

This is a highly mediocre Indian restaurant, and way overrated. I tasted 4 dishes (chicken tikka, chicken korma, a shrimp dish, and lamb vindaloo), along with rice and naan. The first three were as average as average gets, and barely that. The vindaloo was a huge disappointment. It was hardly spicier than any of the other dishes, for one thing, which should never be, of course. Vindaloo should leave your lips a bit tingly and the residue of the spiciness should stay nicely in your mouth even after you're finished. Also, any good vindaloo should be not only spicy but sour. This was not at all. As for the other staple of an Indian restaurant, naan—wow, they really have to try harder. It was almost like warm flatbread, when good naan should be thick and doughy in some spots.The service was good though.

The food is quite good and the place is very clean. Their Sunday night buffet is great but the younger woman they have working the tables and buffet is totally annoying. She hovers next to you while at the buffet, and is constantly interrupting your meal to take some insignificant little thing off the table. We are seriously considering not returning just because of her. (If the service weren't so obnoxiously intrusive, we would give this 4 stars.)

This is our go-to Indian place, but we ordered today after many weeks, and quality was way down…butter chicken swimming in oil and $20 veggie dish missing 1/4 of it lol. What the heck!!
