Came here for a COVID-19 vaccine with my Toddler. Parking was easy to find on the street and there were clear directions on where to go. We didn’t feel rushed - kudos to the staff for making it a great experience even though it was starting to get busy.Note:- don’t forget to get your vaccine card from the check-in desk staff as the immunization takes some time to be updated electronically on Health Gateway- there is limited seating in the waiting area as there are both kids waiting to get their shot and kids finished but needing to rest 15 mins (there’s a few extra chairs in the hallway or outside if you need to sit away from others)- the shot was given in a private room which is great for reducing anxiety for kids

As a children’s immunization center, the lack of family washroom is significant for this place 3rd floor. A private washroom with changing table where both mom and dad can go there.

Writing this for my cousin:I get to the clinic & the receptionist is annoyed that I don’t have an appointment… I called earlier in the day and spoke to a nurse and I was told to just walk in. Then I’m told ALL nurses left for lunch?? Is that normal? Does it say somewhere on the website that the clinic is pretty much closed for an hour. It’s also 3 in the afternoon. So unprofessional and a waste of time and gas.

Friendly staff, the nurse was very knowledgeable and professional. We had an appointment for 9am, but we didn't get in until 9:15am. My guess is because it was so busy here today, a Monday.Lots of kids and parents today, last 3 times we came there was only 1 or 2 other people, today was around 15.Our baby did not cry this time from the vaccine shot, but did cry the first 3 times we came here. The nurse we had this time performed the shot exceptionally well.

Visited several times for the vac and dental for my son. Overall nice experience, you really don’t need to have too many interactions with the receptionist so I don’t understand why there are so many complains about it. The nurses are all very kind and nice, sometimes there are med students too, but we don’t mind. The only complaint I have is the parking spot is way too small.

The call was picked up by the first lady, which was working totally fine, and transferred to Burnaby health center. The second lady just pretended she cannot hear what I am speaking and hang up. (Time: 12:25pm Aug-29). This happened 5 times. My wife called and got the same experience. There is no excuse for this service! I will give another try and record her conversation with a consent and file a formal complaint about this unprofessional behavior. If anyone had the same experience, please also file a formal complaint!

I visited this clinic before so I tried to book my second dose for Polio, Tetanus and the final dose for MMR, which are part of a school requirement. I had a hard time trying to reach someone on the other line to talk to regarding my concern. The phone reception did not know what to do when I asked to get connected to the immunization clinic and hung up on me. When I finally got someone thru, I was told by the health nurse that they do not do it at this location since travel clinics and community health centers are open.

It’s always a great experience at Burnaby Public Health! The nurses are friendly and informative and they make sure you understand what they’re explaining and ask you if you have any questions. The front desk staff are very friendly too. One front desk staff (I forgot her name) even offered to write down my son’s weight, height on his health passport and she even offered to help us in weighing him. I always tell my friends to bring their kids to Burnaby Public Health Unit! There are a lot of brochures too to take home and read. Walk-in clinics don’t have that. (Posted 2018)
