Dirk installed a new pressure treated deck for me last year. It was just great having Dirk explain exactly how he was going to build the deck and to answer all of my questions. We recommend he and his business for any project. He and his lads built our 2 car garage and designed it to fit in with our existing home and setting on our rural property. He was on budget which in this day and age was a bonus. Nasty Ontario weather days and a requirement by our township for an engineered cement foundation caused construction delays; however, construction was still completed within an acceptable time frame for us.Our son and daughter-in-law had Dirk and Capital Decks re-do a bathroom one winter and they are very pleased with the work.

As a deck builder myself back in the 80’s, It was hard to relinquish control of my own deck build project to somebody else. In addition, my deck project was somewhat complicated and I needed to find a builder who would take the time to do this right with a big focus on the details. Capital Decks exceeded all of my expectations. Dirk was amazingly accommodating and came up with great suggestions and alternatives. The deck was extremely well built, they always left a clean site and never left me hanging. I hired Dirk and Capital Decks to build a new PVC deck to replace my 19 year old cedar deck that had seen better days. I was not disappointed. You can tell he takes pride in his work and it shows in the finished product. I also appreciated that he took the time to go over how the deck would be built and explain the pros and cons of the different decking materials. We have just had a combination PVC and pressure treated deck built by Capital Decks. You work with Dirk, the owner. He designs, estimates and builds. Nothing is subcontracted. Dirk said he would take a week and he took a week. He said he would make improvements and he did. He installed a clever solution to a window radius, he lowered the deck to include the gas tap access, he put in joints for the railing instead of just screws, he overspec'd the beam for stability, he sanded rough edges and mitred the PVC deck border.Dirk did a classy job with no cost surprises. It's only a small deck but the pride of work is evident. I would recommend Capital Decks for excellent cost and quality.
