She walked me through the process to top up my Earthquake Strata Deductible which was not at the level, I required, with my existing insurance coverage. I purchased liability insurance for my lake boat this weekend online. The process was amazing simple and straight forward and I go the policy documents by email shortly afterwards. I actually went to the insurance office I do all my insurance with for house, vehicles ATVSs and snowmobiles etc and was advised it was not possible to get boat insurance at the present time. I have to have it just to put my boat on my boat lift in the marina so this was something I had to have and immediately. InsureBC was a miracle gave me what I needed quickly and easily

Positives: Friendly, helpful staff. Many offices to choose from.Negatives: Insurance is often unclear, and when I renew a year later, it's as if they have no idea what I had insured with them, and that's quite troubling. This has happened with marine and home insurance with them.Details:I have had home insurance with Yaletown Insurance (now InsureBC) for over 14 years. I have a small commuter boat that is supposedly covered, and have sent them photos, details, etc. about the boat in the past. There is never a specific mention of the boat being covered in the paperwork from Gore Mutual, and I have to dig in the details that vaguely mention that things like small boats are covered. When I went to renew my insurance in 2023, I saw there was an error in the square footage of my home, and wished to update it (by the way, you can't call Gore directly, as they ask you to speak to your broker). This broker had NO IDEA that I had a boat, wanted me to re-submit paperwork for my wood stove (which hasn't changed in years and required a rather lengthy and specific two-page document of information that goes way above what's reasonable to ask, in my opinion, and it would take at least an hour or two to track down all of the information). It was as if I didn't have insurance at all, and had to re-apply. So, I asked where the picture and documents for the boat were that I sent. No idea. Nothing included in any package mentioning it from Gore or InsureBC.My concern is that, what if I had to make a claim? Would they just deny that any of these things existed? Why pay for insurance at all if they have no idea what I paid for?Also, if you think... Aha
