Tropical on 17th
Love the vibe and the ambiance of this place. The margaritas are excellent, especially if you hit up happy hour. My favorite Taco is usually the al pastor, and tropical is definitely in my top three places in Calgary to deliver on this incredibly tasty dish!! Would recommend, but the aware that it turns into a club after 9:00 p.m. the music and energy are great, but make sure you dine early if you're looking for conversation over dinner.

Celebrated my friends 21’st birthday here and it was a blast. One of my closest friends Jerwin was there to spice up our night and he did! Recommended us the best food, drinks as well as the perfect time to come hehe.

This place is incredible, I went here for my birthday and they decorated our table which was such a cute added touch to a great experience. Love the atmosphere, very fun and upbeat. The service was phenomenal! Our waitress went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and constantly came back to our table to top up drinks. Our order seemed very cheap in comparison to most places and their portion sizes are great for what you pay!! Definitely will make my way back when I'm in Calgary again!

Food review: we ordered the build your own taco kit and nachos for delivery - first of all everything arrived fresh and warm. The food was sooo good and the portions were large. They give you so many options for taco toppings and the nachos were loaded. Great value for a great meal! Would definitely recommend

It was a phenomenal experience!! Delicious food, fantastic music, great service, and excellent cocktail choices! This restaurant turns into a bar/club after 10PM and it’s the absolute vibe!!The bartender, Jerwin, was exceptional! 10/10 service and he made the best drinks!!Thanks for a great time!

Being neighbours to tropical is so amazing, coming here feels like home. I come here to eat and party and i never ever leave without being treated like a a VIP, sandra and pablo are amazing! Come try out their ceviche! -el chefe

I loved this spot. We came in for a quick drink and snack but couldn't leave. It turned out to be an almost all night thing. The staff here are so great and fast with orders. The drinks are good from small margaritas to 7oz margaritas or have a Pina colada out of a pineapple. Why not?! The music was on point and the atmosphere had a chill vibe. With a lot of people finding room to dance. There are some VIP areas upstairs that have a great secluded area and another bar. I would recommend coming here on a Friday or Saturday if you want some soft club vibes. The owner introduced himself as well. What a great guy! Oh kitchen staff.... You rock. Amazing food!!

For the first time I went to Tropical on 17th after hearing amazing things! The referrals did not disappoint! My server Andrea was incredible! She was always quick to check in and see how things were going, asking if and when we needed something, and was fast to return with food and drinks! Even though my to-go order was missing the guacamole and chips, still an incredible night!Before leaving after a couple of hours, my friends and I were able to experience the beautiful live singing they had. A true and memorable experience, and I cannot wait to go back!

Beware of shady servers and check your bill accordingly. The group ordered form the happy hour menu but the server fought us on this when the bill arrived and pricing was only resolved when a manger got involved. Food was below average. Also, the Happy Hour menu tricks you with a dollar value off" the regular price but does not state the actual price...you need to ask the server. They only want your money with as little interaction as possible. The entire experience was very shady and I would cation anyone who visits this place."

Great music with such a good vibe honestly. This place is just extremely small and crowded. Went around 10:30. Our server was so nice and friendly, she even danced with us. Drinks are a bit overpriced and were nothing special but overall, would come here again for the atmosphere
