Very unprofessional and difficult to deal with. Do not trust any of the prices they have listed on the floor because they will come back and tell you the sign was old (which is illegal but they simply do not care). We ended up buying a product with them despite all of this simply because there was no one around who had comparable items. They are very well aware of this which is why they have no problem being rude, dismissive, and over charging you every step of the way.

This is one of the only times I decided to write a review about a store and owning my own business I understand both sides. But when I spoke to the apparent Manager today regarding ordering a remote for my unit, he was completely apprehensive about the entire situation refusing to help me to order it or even inquire about it. Instead of taking any info and looking into the matter he directed me to the manufacturer. Its funny how they treat you like gold when you spend $1500 on a unit at first and then turn their back on you later on when you request help. Would not recommend this store at all. Avoid them. Very disappointing!

We can always count on Fireplace to respond to any questions or problems we have. They make the effort to understand the problem and resolve it in an efficient way. They are always friendly and very patient with providing information and instructions in a manner I can understand and do when they are not around. We have been using their services for the past ten years and are always satisfied with the work.

I don't understand how this place conducts business. I phoned on November 6th. I informed them I needed a new mantle and fireplace. They gave me a contact number. When I spoke to the person he said he was just a technician who fixes broken fireplaces. I phoned the store back on November 8th. I sent pictures attached to a follow up email. I never heard back. I phoned again on November 12. I was told an email had been sent to me. I received no emails including in my junk mail. I was told a subsequent email would be sent. It never was. It has been nearly 3 weeks. Completely unreliable. I am happy I found this out now before having any work done by them.

The installation team were so efficient and very helpful. We are very pleased with the new fireplace and appreciate the technician James going over and above to make sure we were satisfied with the final result. I would highly recommend!

Very satisfied with the results. We had 2 old wood burning fireplaces that we wanted to change to wood and gas insert. They had to work with sizes that are not custom. We had our idea what we wanted but Mechan our sales rep and James who installed our inserts explained in detail why those wouldn't work. They came up with some great solutions. I still had questions after the installation and Mechan was very patient and explained things again for me. James was great as well, he knew is stuff and was also patient and clear in explaining what he needed to do especially for the gas insert. He kept it clean, put out blankets to protect the floor and surrounding area. Thank you both

I have used this company before and I was always satisfied with their services. Today I spoke to one of the service people about a noise in one of my fire places. He suggested it could be the attached fan that caused the problem. I asked him if he could come by to check it out and repair it. His answer was that for the initial visit he would charge $ 195.--. In case of replacing a part he would charge again $ 195,-- plus the cost of the part.I was quite shocked and I told him I could not recall him being so expensive. He agreed that his prices went up a little. Well, I checked my last invoice which dates from less than a year ago. It turns out their prices went up by 30%. He calls that: a little. I call that: 'way to much'!!

From start to finish the folks at The Fireplace Shop were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. They helped me select the perfect unit for my home, and then made every effort to get it installed as soon as possible, regularly going over and above my expectations in terms of timing and efficiency. They have an excellent selection of beautiful fireplaces for every style and budget, and their installation people are conscientious and professional. I can’t recommend Mechan and his crew, especially their installation specialist James, highly enough. And I love my new fireplace!

We were very impressed with the work, from initial consultation on the phone, to the inspection, to the final install with The Fireplace Shop. The people at the store -- Mechan-- did a great job in communicating with us.James, who did the visit and install was professional and kind. He made sure he laid down carpet from the front door to the fireplace to make sure the house stayed clean. The driveway was also hosed down after and swept. It seemed as though the installation did not even happen. The quote was consistent with 2 other people in the city and I knew the store existed for a long time.I did not read any of these reviews before calling the store. I was simply going by the name . This experience has been great. I would call them again if I was doing another install and looking forward to the cooler weather in the Fall. The unit we have is the Valor Portrait unit and looks really good (at least we think do).

We live in an older Georgian style home and wanted to update the facade on our fireplace. I contacted the Fireplace Shop on Eglinton as I had used them in the past when converting to a gas fireplace. They were very professional not only in their responses andguidance for me but also in designing a mantle and hearth that integrated with our home beautifully. It is as if the mantle and hearth have been here forever!I would highly recommend the fireplace shop to anyone who wants to upgrade their home
