Hit and miss. Not mostly clean. Large variation to room design (some better, some worse). If you're renting a room for vacation, some floors have kitchenettes, floor 4 has the best. Sheets didn't get changed ( I had followed their instructions) so I had to ask the cleaning people multiple times to finally get sheets.

Room and bathrooms were both clean. The price was much less than a hotel and we were just steps from downtown. Perfect for a night if you are wanting to do things downtown and walk back to your accommodation.

Extremely noisy making it impossible to get a proper night's sleep. Poor airflow in the building. Rooms are like an oven in the summertime. Windows only open several inches & are screenless for insects to enter at will. Paper thin walls where everyone knows your business. Constant harassment from upper & adjacent tenants. In the span of 3 weeks it was impossible to have a full night's sleep due to the constant harassment. Same events happened in 2015. Should be avoided if possible.

This building is really pretty old and ugly. Especially when you contrast it with the magnificent Halifax public library only steps away. Bit of an eye-sore if you ask me.

Hi freshman, if you like quiet living environment and still hesitating about which residence to choose, Gerard is the best choice.I lived in this building for two academic years, really enjoyed it, and I'll never forget the view outside of my window.
