Guildford Shelter - Lookout Housing

Been trying to a place for me and now my 1.5year old son for 2 years. Everytime management get changed its like im a new client here. They do not follow up with clients. Do not go here unless all you need is a temporay roof over your head. Do not expect this shelter to actually provide any personal assistance1

So necessary to support our community in need.

The manager of this shelter is a great man in my opinion..he helped me immensely and I will always be grateful for everything he did for me

It's absolutely ridiculous that the shelter gives people needles and then pushes them out the door to shoot drugs and leave dirty needles on the surrounding parks and schools. I'm all for harm reduction and even supervised injection but it is NOT okay for a policy to encourage leaving dirty needles where kids can find them.

Very nice place, all staff are amazing, management are very helpful and understanding still firm enough to keep place safe and peaceful. I am here since early July I hilghly recommend this place if you can find a place because a lot of people (including me) prefer to stay in it because of good treatment, food, sleep... etc. To staff, management, workers... This place is full of people looking to fight and be little one another, only now are they doing something about what is going on in their after several emails from. Several people. I have a girlfriend who works as a therapist there and she has personally told me things that would bring down the new west and surrey mayors council, and blast them on the news.

This shelter and All other shelters are NOT the reason the park are full of needles and garbage.Wherether they are free or not is also NOT the reason.the reason is the opiod crisis does not desciminate where you live anymore .every park every mall every empty spot that people can find they will regardless the shelter Bering there or not.This is the lack of affordable housing .lack of treatment long enough to actually help people.ubderstaffed shelters .entitled homeless people the list goes on.Look around I'm sorry maybe your nice neighborhood is becoming not so nice but so is everywhere else and it's only going to get worse .we have not seen the effects of the pandemic yet by any means .I believe addicts should pick up there garbage 100 percent .there's no excuse but it's a small part of the problem that is only getting worse by the day ..I give props to anyone who works or volunteers in a shelter it's very difficult and they are doing there best.most of the really bad complaints are someone unwilling to follow the rules and are entitled to think they can get away with everything .That park will be a a cemetery soon I'm sorry to say

This place and the new one next to just brought junkies and crime into the area. They are rude and leave garbage, needles, tinfoil, rubberbands to use heroin ect, and they are passing out infront of the superstore on drugs. They are ruining this area and its sad the police and elemetry school is right beside all of this.. and someone there has a gold buick that is in the superstore parking for almost a year. Not good

They Advertise as a Shelter - Housing the Homeless. But do the Opposite. When you call they will automatically say they are full. They Do nothing to help a person in Crisis. Im in a serious Crisis, I finished Rehab at MRTC only to find myself homeless without a shelter, for 2 weeks Ive been waiting to get in a place. I am still recieving absolutely no help. These people are the worst, do not get your hopes up, because they will just say NO everytime you ask for help.

The staff are kind hearted and try and help to the best of there abilities.Where kindness and respect is shown so it should be given
