About the Business

Mr.Tonkatsu | Original Japanese Style TonKatsu Restaurant | Tonkatsu is known as one of the most "authentic" dishes of the world, which consists of deep-fried pork cutlet served with some shredded raw cabbage and sweet sauce. Mr. Tonkatsu opened its first Tonkatsu restaurant in Toronto, Canada, providing fresh cutlet with its own unique and special sweet sauce. Since Tonkatsu is still not well known in the city, Mr.Tonkatsu sees the potential growth and endeavors to serve the authentic Tonkatsu.

Pretty good in general, but the bottom of the fried pork is soggy instead of crispy from the second piece onwards.

The cheese chicken katsu was SOOOO GOOD! You know it's good when the cheese is crazy stringy. My husband really enjoyed the demi cheese tonkatsu. We also ordered the potato ball as an app. Great place to go if you're craving katsu in the area!

I was craving tonkatsu and came here; i really enjoyed the light, crispy batter of the tonkatsu! It wasnt soggy and dense (which is ok too, just not my preference); more importantly the tonkatsu was moist and pretty tender! The pork itself did not taste marinated so you rely on the sauce for “seasoning” or flavour… this was totally ok for me but it may taste somewhat bland to ppl who want stronger meat flavours. I also liked that the mozzarella was not that salty either! It’s still a smidge pricy in my opinion, but a couple of dollars cheaper than Katsuya.

Visited first time on Dec. 24th for dinner. There was only one other table inside restaurant. It was 10% takeout or eat in by cash. I ordered the pork tenderloin as suggested by the waitress. She was nice. The food was good. The sauce had to be put into the bowl with sesame then mixed together before being dipped by the pork.

I went to go get some dinner with my friends and the staff was very polite and quick. I ordered takoyaki as my appetizer and it tasted amazing! After that I got the chicken curry katsu which was really flavourful and I ended up finishing it before I realized! Definitely a great place for a filling dinner!

This was a last minute impromptu stop. Always see this place when walking or driving by and decided to give this place a shot! The katsu panko breading was perfect. Nice and crispy on the outside and encasing the nicely cooked meat and fish. The sauces were perfect for the respective katsu dishes. For the fish, had a little lemon and a tartar like sauce that complemented the fish so well. Love the word interior ad the service was very good! Everything was as promised and on time! So glad we decided to stop in here and definitely see myself coming back here for more of that crispy deliciousness! Great job overall!Follow me on IG @thirst_and_taste for better pics and more amazing content!

A fried porkchop specialty restaurant Japanese style. They have several outlets in Toronto and sells variations of these fried porkchops and dinner set. Taste is good for this little shop but no comparison to similar ones in Japan. Moderate value for money. Not very busy but I see they have more takeout or delivery than eat in. Recommended
