The lamb shank was good but the fish was very disappointing...dry and tough. The reataurant is more designed for taje out with only 4 tables for eating inside which are not veru comfortable. Service was not great as the cashier was not able to explain the dishes well and there is no table service. Dishes were not nicely plated and was just slopped on...was messy. The samosas were delicious. Prices are not low considering it was take out as an entree and rice averaged over 20 dollars.

Amazingly delicious! Went here with a friend tonight and we both had the mafe with lamb. The hot sauce was some of the best I've had. I also had some lentil soup, which was fantastic. Ginger juice was super refreshing. The service was great too. Go try it out!

Delicious food, well-balanced flavours and friendly owner. Highly recommend! I had the mafé( peanut stew) with fonio( almost like quinoa/couscous) and some accara fritters. The eggplant dish was tasty too!

Always a delicious and delightful experience. The food is fresh and made from scratch. Friendly staff, and the owner Bintou remembers her customers even if she hasn't seen you in months.I recommend almost all the menu, but my favourites are Yassa au Poulet, and Supu Kanja (also Dakhine - no longer on the menu).Glad to see that they are successful enough to take over the empty space next door, and expand the seating area. For a treat, try one of the juices: Ginger or Bissap (Hibiscus).Prices reflect the quality, and that these dishes are hand-made from scratch. If you're in the downtown #yyj area, in the Empress Hotel/Victoria Conference Centre precinct, this delightful, authentic Senegalese restaurant is worth the visit!

The food is absolutely delicious and the service is super friendly. Never in my life have I had such simple ingredients blow my mind like this. The black eyed beans and rice is basically just what it sounds like, but the flavours are eye popping. Plus, the samosas are delightful - sweet potatoes, a bit of sugar and spice, with some raisins? Definitely recommended! The owner is wonderful and great to talk to :)

The food is excellent. The lamb curry was the best I have had in Victoria. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Everything offered seems to be made on site. There are only three tables for eating in but many people came to do take out which was quick. I wiil definitely be back.

If you feel like trying something different, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu here. Large portion sizes for the price. I had the lamb curry and yassa poulet, which were very flavourful. If you like ginger you'll love the ginger juice. There are also some African foods for sale. I met Bintou, who I believe is the owner as well as head chef, at the front of the store and she was very friendly and recommended what I would like. A great place to take visitors to Victoria and a gem of Esquimalt.

Super friendly staff, amazing food. Have been twice now and not been disappointed. My daughter is a huge fan of their eggplant dish, samosas are incredible and buy some of their hot sauce to go.

Oh the food is wonderful! It's out of the way but so worth it. My particular favourite is the Black Eyed Beans ragout and I really like the Domoda and Yassa Chicken but I see new things on the menu I'll have to try.The veggie samosas are absolute heaven - don't miss them. Wherever you work downtown, or if you're shopping on the weekend, make the trek to the Crystal Garden to visit Le Petit Dakar and enjoy the wonderful food. You'll be sorry you didn't try it sooner!

We had friends over a couple weeks ago. The boys went to get samosas and play pool. They came back saying that the beef samosas were the best they ever had. I went today and would have to agree with them! We also had the lamb shank! Delicious! Would absolutely recommend to anyone we know!
