CEFA Early Learning Burnaby - Brentwood

Cefa burnaby is a wonderful daycare, best daycare of burnaby. Both of my daughter and son attends here and they loves it. Teachers are always friendly to parents and very good to kids. No matter food or learning environment, kids and parents feel relieved and satisfied. The place is very clean and they follow all the safety measures. The daily report tells how the kid doing in various activities. Thanks a lot for everyone in the school. Great job.

BEWARE, this is a SCAM!We applied and paid the $100 non-refundable fee when our daughter was barely 1 month old. When following up we would get replies like “sorry, there’s no spot for you yet but we’re keeping our fingers crossed one will open up soon”. Now, 14 months later, we’re being told there are HUNDREDS of people ahead of us and they are working with applications made over 2 years earlier than ours.So at the end of February 2023 they are working with applications from December 2020!My kid will be in high-school by the time a spot could open up for her at CEFA Brentwood. Staff children and siblings of other kids already attending here have priority. The “general public” (their term) gets in most likely never, but they have no problem taking the application fee, nonetheless.They are making in the tens of thousand of dollars every year by misleading parents. They are the worst type of speculators, taking advantage of an already precarious situation and parents’ desperate need for childcare, without having the decency to be transparent and honest about kids’ real chances of getting a spot at this location. Which are slim, to none.They have hundreds of kids on the waiting list of a daycare with very limited spots. There are 12 spots for 0-18 months and at least ten times as many applicants. Yet, CEFA Brentwood cannot be bothered to do the right thing and put a cap on applications despite knowing full well they are cashing in money without the possibility of giving anything but false hope in return. They don’t even have the decency to warn potential applicants of the reality they are facing. Just copy / paste emails when called out, stating that somewhere on their website there is a note stating that they don’t guarantee a spot even if the non-refundable fee is paid.We’ve already made the mistake of giving our money to this business and are now realizing we got scammed. You may want to consider looking elsewhere.

Almost every day care will charge $100 for application fee. Is not something new to me after register several day care. I am writing this review because lots of ppl focus on $100 deposit and don’t get in CEFA in timely manner.I felt the same way when I gave $100 deposit to CEFA when my baby still in my belly. Not only waited 3 years but also have to sent her to different daycare before CEFA accepted us. By the way, other mummies mentioned took them three years as well.At the end, it is the best things we did for my baby. $100 absolutely mean nothing when seeing your baby so excited for going to school.Seeing the same teachers, fresh hot lunch , healthy breakfast , gated outdoor playground on site, potty trained (built in bathroom inside the classroom), teaching S.T. E.M education, live update with photos, super clean and organized facility. Not to mentioned the teacher truly love playing with the kids and they genuinely listen to their need.This Is not a day care. Is a school!That’s being said, I already knew all the teachers and student’s name on the first day of school. CEFA is great at communicating with full transparency.Their app will notify you right away with any necessary update. My husband and I still talks about how great it was with our decision.If you truly want the best experience for your kids growth. This is the way!!

I am not sure if reviews from upset parents who simply paid for an application fee (application fee does not mean acceptance fee) are fair. Access to childcare is an issue all around and is not a CEFA Brentwood issue, instead it is an issue to take to your politicians.As a parent with kids who have attended CEFA Brentwood since Baby (so 4 years) and who had applied as soon as I was pregnant and also waited - I can't say how much our family have enjoyed our experience. Not all CEFAs are the same but CEFA Brentwood is definitely one of the best.Daylene, the principal, is on top of everything and would even be the first person there shoveling snow early in the morning so we could safely bring the kids to daycare. She is the engine that truly keeps everything going. Our kids know that when they show up, they will always be welcomed with a smile from Daylene.All of the educators there are also amazing and top notch. They take the time to get to know your children and enjoy being there with them. I know many daycares have retention and recruitment issues but as a parent, we didn't experience that and get daily age appropriate updates from the team. The kids also don't just attend CEFA as a daycare but it really is a school. I did not have to teach my kids ABCs (they start that right at CEFA baby!) or prep my kids to be kindergarten ready (they do that at JK3 right before the kids head off to K). The teachers attend to your kids' well being and development and they work really hard! My kids love every single one of their teachers and have noted that the teachers are what make them love going to school. Even educators who are not my kids' teachers will always have a smile on their face and are friendly and kind.The school is clean and the community is very good. It is run like a school however so you would need childcare for the winter break, spring break and a short summer break. But parents are given the calendar in advance so you can plan your schedule accordingly.Overall, we had a positive experience and were glad we were part of the CEFA family for the past four years.

A Scam. Read my experience before donating your money for their ads everywhere.I put nonrefundable application fee 3 years ago and when my daughter can be enrolled this year, they told me she needs to wait again when she is going to class age 3-5. ??? No sense we waited for 3 years and they told me we need to re-enroll after three months of learning. My friend sent her child the same time as we did without waiting because her first child was enrolled before. And a lot of my friends who are new parents wait longer than me. Stupid system and unfair to new parents.

Both of my children have attended cefa and we have been very happy with care provided. The time my child has spent at cefa brentwood has been exceptional in no small part to the amazing staff who work here. All of the teachers that my child has had have been excellent. It's very clear that they have a passion for supporting young learners. The last thing that has made our experience so great has been the principal. She's very organized, an excellent communicator and always smiling!

They are asking for $100 before talking to anyone and the wait list is over 2 years. The money ia non-refundable. Our daughter will be in grade school by then. Seems like a scam, you womt get into daycare here. Save your $100, stay away
