Beattie Pet Hospital - East Hamilton

This location is 100 times better than the Stoney Creek one. Staff is very friendly, they always come over and pet my dog when we are waiting. Dr McDonald is amazing , super friendly, patient and answers all your questions , you don’t feel rushed at all.

I was able to bring my dog in for an emergency appointment. Everyone was amazing as usual. My dog got checked out and sent home with some medicine.I am so greatful.

The staff from reception to the techs, to the assistants to the vets and the manager they are all caring and compassionate not one of them show they are afraid my my big dog they give him love and treat and the care he gets is absolutely amazing we switched from another vet to because of this. Top notch staff definitely recommend them!!!

The staff are always so great here! Sometimes the wait is a bit long, but we always feel our pets receive good care. The front desk staff do their best to take time to make our pets feel special and they always have seasonal picture spots set up.

We can’t say enough good things about our experience with this location. Everyone, from the front staff to the vet techs to Dr. Puja herself, were always so kind and warm every time we visited. I always felt well-informed, and that their recommendations were given with knowledge and intention. We recently had to say goodbye to our dearly loved cat, and they walked us through that process with the same kindness and care they’d shown throughout Maggie’s life. I’d recommend them to anyone with a treasured furry one in their life.

Thankyou to Dr.McDonald and all the staff for making us feel cared for, important and not just another dollar in the till. I was quite anxious about our appointment, it being a serious and unexpected issue. We were treated courteously by reception, Dr. McDonald's manner was competent and reassuring, the vet technicians were quick and efficient. Everyone was kind. Dr. McDonald explained everything and I felt informed and sure of my options for Lily's care going forward. Cost is always a concern to a pensioner and pet health care can be expensive, but I felt that I was given a reasonable and honest quote her dental surgery. I will worry but I feel that Lily will be given the best care during and after her surgery. Thankyou for making a stressful situation easier for us.

All but one of the vets we have dealt with have been fantastic. The staff is busy but easy going and kind.I knocked off a star after a consult with Dr. Williams. We were there to get our puppy vaccines booster and while there, we were asked if we were planning to spay her (not sure why. We just needed to get some shots). We said “not for a while. She is a large breed and we want her to physically mature before any spay”, to which he said “oh we always spay dogs, you can do it after 6 months.” Us: “you still recommend that for a large breed?” “Yes”. I understand this is to reduce the possibility of cancer, but he obviously does not understand or read modern research on large breeds and the impact the sudden release of growth hormone has on their physical maturity. We had even prefaced saying that her involvement in sporting is important to us. I had to keep insisting that we were not going to spay early and he kept pushing that “every dog should be spayed after 6 months, and that it doesn’t matter at all that she is a large breed”. He also did not speak to me when I spoke, and would respond to my male partner instead, which I found rude, and obviously sexist. I was furious afterwards and I will ensure to never see him again.The rest of the staff are quite lovely and we haven’t had issues with them. Their pricing is very fair and they’re always available for appointments, making pet ownership overall less stressful. I hope the clinic reconsiders Dr. Williams areas of practice in the future to not include any interaction with large dog breeds.

Did what they could for my cat. Explained everything so that I could understand what was going on and were sensitive when he didn't respond well to treatment. The staff were great and super friendly. I will continue to bring my pets to this clinic!

I love this place. I have a pitbull and they're very good with him. When we get the same people. He doesn't like being switched up but he tolerates it.

I was really worried about Popeye and the staff there made me feel comfortable right away and were great with him. He is a covid kitty and hasn't been exposed to many people but you wouldn't know that from the way he took to the staff
