Standard, traditional Chinese restaurant with an extensive menu. These places never do anything particularly well in my experience and this was no exception. The food was average at best, nothing really stood out but it wasn't horrible. We went for a birthday celebration for an older family member. The staff agreed to hold our cake for us until the end. Service was nothing special but they did give us a bonus dessert after. I wouldn't go back on my own.Restaurant is pretty clean and has a parking lot. Bathrooms were small but relatively clean.

One of the many Shanghai Restaurants in Richmond, it did not disappoint me. if you have a large group I would highly recommend to make a reservation ahead of timeMajority of the food were very satisfactory, aside for the duck is a bit dry. The Shanghai Dumpling was hot and steamy as it came out, the wrapping was nice and thin and it did not break when I was trying to eat it; my skills with Chopstick is really bad so that means somethingAfter the meal, there was a complementary jelly dessert it was nice and refreshing

I was recommended to this place by a friend, had also noticed it being one of the best places to eat in Richmond. We went right at 5pm when they opened, and I’m going to be honest, it wasn’t too great.I had read some reviews and saw that someone else had commented that their dishes came out lukewarm. I had written them off at the time, but now I have to do my duty to warn people that literally all the dishes we ordered were lukewarm as well.If this was just a one-off, fine, but the fact that someone else also mentioned it is a red flag to me.I just don’t understand how the xiao long bao can be lukewarm upon serving, the potstickers we ordered had no colour/brown (I realized after the fact that I didn’t even bother to take a pic because I was so disappointed)Friend recommended the fried seaweed fish, it was the best of the items we ordered but it didn’t blow my mind.Overall, would I recommend? No.Would I eat again if I’m in the area? No.I really wanted to like this place and never felt so disappointed…

As a Nanjinger, the food is authentic. Birthday occasion and I only ordered Jiangsu and Shanghai traditional food.咸肉蒸百叶 and 香干马兰头 are authentic. 油焖笋尖is a bit disappointing- unfresh- but I guess that’s the best you can get in Canada. Food would be four star in Canada and three star in my hometown. I can attest the cook is from the region. The menu covers a wide range of styles tho - Sichuan Cantonese and else with little differentiation among Suzhou hangzhou and Shanghai style.Service is outstanding. I enjoyed the hometown accent and subtle caring style as well as the complimentary dissert. To be frank, I was turned away by another Shanghai restaurant nearby due to their early hours but they were not apologetic- food was 5 there but service 1. So at my birthday I finally cannot take it anymore. And when i came her it totally made up for it.Payment - Nowadays a lot of places set very high tip percentages on their machines. But here the highest is only 18%. Like the attitude.Thank you. I will definitely come back again to try the seaweed fish and else!

Please listen to the latest reviews and avoid this place. One of the worst duck dish I’ve had in years. This is the dish “crispy duck”, the meat wasn’t fresh and the skin was soft. When asked, the server says “that’s expected, if the skin was crispy then it would be dry”…..what?

This place is such a hidden gem! We always go for the spicy fish head, pan fried pork buns and peking duck which are consistently good! Also tried the sweet and sour fish recently which was amazing. Staff are friendly and attentive. Service is fast and generous portions. Go with a group of friends or family to try a bit of everything, you won’t regret it!

Food here is only okay. Top Shanghai right across offers better food quality. The service is excellent. The parking is really tight here.

First time trying this restaurant, we ordered shredded pork in Beijing sauce (comes with 8 pieces of thin steamed pancakes to wrap the pork) and wonton chicken in clay pot, both dishes are very good and served very fast. I only remembered to take photos after I started eating, just know the shredded pork portion size is good, what’s shown in my picture is only half of it. The taste is very authentic. The pork is tender and the pancake is well made. I tried making the pancake at home but it’s not as thin as it’s supposed to be. They used free-range chicken and sheperd’s purse wonton in the clay pot dish. At the end they also served each of us one bite of osmanthus cake, which was a pleasant surprise. Will come back again to try more dishes.

So, it was wife’s birthday and we thought perhaps we can try something new and we picked this restaurant — our first time and last time. Your honesty and level of hospitality can almost guarantee your forever existence on our DO NOT RECOMMEND LIST for all my personal and business needs.1) Peking Duck, only served with skins and barely any meats attached. It was supposed to go with cucumber strips/slices and sliced green onion, sauce, and wrap. A fact that most Chinese would know, yours, no cucumber and only a very small plate of sliced green onion enough for 3-4 bits max, even my 10-yr old asked: that’s it? see photos.2) THEY CHARGE COLD LEMON WATER … so it took them 20 mins to get us iced water with lemon (3 cups) and we only learnt about being charged at the end. As someone who used to partner with somewhere in the neighborhood of 150 restaurants this was literally the first time Ive seen a CHARGE for iced water with lemon, and the most unacceptable thing was, when I asked the waitress why there’s a charge for that and why we were not told, she replied: oh sorry I thought you knew that. It’s the first time you guys come in maybe in the future I can void that. — so it’s optional and you just chose to put on the charge because you feel like it? $3 is a very small amount yes, but I would have appreciated the charge out-front and yes the HONESTY.3) Average taste, normal portion, food served fast but barely any aesthetic presentation.4) 2 adults + 2 kids 5 dishes family meal nothing fancy and ended up to be around $200 including almost $30 tips - even though we were far from being happy. That’d be the end of my respect to your business.传统菜味道一般 特色菜没有特色 价格价值不等 服务不诚实的 造访仅此一次
