The Salvation Army Harbour Light
Offers emergency shelter, food for the homeless. Povides social assistance, addiction services and housing. End Homelessness, a simple mission statement, very difficult and can be ugly in actuality, but the Sally Anne are very experienced in this field (obviously), and they try their best to meet an increasing need in the midst of an opiod and homelessness epidemic in East Van.

For the people downtown this place offers them meals almost everyday. They also have a detox center a shelter for the homeless as well as a safe living center for those who are struggling with drug/alcohol issues.

#1 healthiest free meal in Vancouver! Low income, Disability, Mental Health and Addictions. Anyone who could use meal can sustain themselves here! UGM (Union gospel mission) has even more meals available and hours are better equipped to help working poor waiting for first cheque! Thanks Salvation Army for feeding more people than anyone else in North America! The line is pretty horrid and hymns can be a little annoying but may be helpful to many during wait to get in, 4 stars! $ for long wait time.

When I first came here I wasn't sure if I was ready to take that step to follow that path of staying clean and sober but after living here for a time and getting to know the staff and some of the residents I started to take a look at my future and if I wanted to go back to Prison or try to clean up my lifestyle.I decided to go with the version where I stay out of Prison. This place has been a big part of me changing my ways.I recommend to anyone reading this that if I can change then so can you, don't give up,in here you never walk alone.

These are a joke compared to Toronto shelter systems I've worked for. Pure Sugar for food and no food ethics.

I went through there for treatment I had permission to go to church I started a charity I was playing recovery baseball they kept me in second stage twice as long because my classmates were jealous and then kicked me out the day I was graduating without me using I had an hour to get all my belongings out and find a place if it wasn't for my two pastors giving me a room to sleep in their house till I found a place I would have been homeless it was for missing a meal line where we're made to serve twice a day for 2 hours a day every day
