The Thomas House
Built in 1829 as the original home of The Thomas Family, The Thomas House is furnished and presented as a pioneer home of the 1830 - 1840's, with many original family items. During the summer, it was open to the public, and volunteers gave tours on weekends. The museum is now closed, but you can still learn about Oakville's history by taking a self-guided audio tour.

The Thomas House
Thomas House, 144 Front Oakville. One of those many hidden gems we have in Ontario. Run by a group of volunteers from Oakville Historic society. It is a true look back into time and how we began. It is nestled at the edge of Lakeside Park, near Oakvilles first Post Office.Take a few minutes and explore.Virtual tour here on ontariomuseums

The Thomas House
Interesting place to visit and learn old Oakville history. The Tomas House 1829 and Old Post Office 1835 did not originally stand on their present foundation at Lakeside park. The first Post Office was build for William Chisholm as first postmaster. It serves as post office untill 1856 and after it was used as blacksmith shop.
