this place is such a hole in the wall gem. the fish portions are unreal, there is way more fish then rice in the rolls. waitstaff is friendly and attentive. service can sometimes be slow but that’s because the kitchen is quite small and food comes out piping hot & fresh so be prepared if your in a rush but its 100% worth it. prices are cheaper then edo.

How can a person NOT like sushi?A few weeks ago we decided to visit @sushi_aroma as I’ve heard great things about them and more specifically about their rice to fish ratio lolThe rolls were good but what really ended up catching my attention was that they have fried milk on their menu. I’ve never seen it being offered at a restaurant before and it’s something I’ve been wanting to try so I did! It was slightly sweet and very light in texture. I’ll definitely be coming back for this particular item.

Service was good, staff were friendly and accommodating. Restaurant is quite small, but don't let that deter you. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. The portions were very generous while being quite affordable. Forewarning to not order too much at once. We definitely ordered way too much, expecting the portions to be about half the size that they were, but we got to bring leftovers home for the next day haha ! Would definitely come back!

They wasn’t great to let me say Wow but they are nice comfort sushi. We got bill mess up with another table, lucky we are checking on the bill and table number. The staff are still need more experience but they are doing their best to provide their customer. I didn’t think I will go back but that because they are pretty far from me since I live on the north side. They fried chicken are good, the sushi rolls still need a bit work since some of their sauce are over come on the main ingredient but their food are fresh.

The cheapest sushi around Edmonton and area! Rolls are thick and meat to rice ratio is incomparable with other sushi places.Value for money ✅Quality ✅I find that some of the rolls are lacking flavour. Personal faves are the blazing salmon roll and milk tempura. Can’t wait to be back next time.

Sushi rolls are fresh, huge, and we’ll rolled so that they look nice and don’t don’t fall apart easily when you pick them up/dip them. Blazing salmon roll is unreal! New BC roll was delicious but the torched salmon skin gave off a little bit of a funky smell. Spicy tuna had good flavour but the texture of the tuna was that of frozen and thawed fish, was still good though and not toooo spicy. Overall really enjoyed the food and will come back for that salmon! Fair priced for the quality of sushi too.

We wish we found this sooner!We got the blazing salmon roll, chop chop roll, one ika, one toro, salmon sashimi and milk tempura.Blazing Salmon RollThe ratio of salmon to rice is insane. If you look at the photo, you'll find a generous portion of salmon at the center of the sushi roll. The salmon was not fishy, and tasted clean. It was similar to Kinjo (in Calgary) in terms of salmon quality (in my opinion) - consistent!Chop chop RollDid I say that the ratio of salmon and rice is insane? It's no different for the scallops! Scallops were sweet, and not masked with tons of mayo like some restaurants. They let the scallops do all the talking.Toro NigiriI was surprised by the toro quality. It's not the worst toro I've had, nor is it the best. But it was surprisingly decent. Portion was good and the preparation was beautiful. Good toro for me tastes more buttery, while this one was missing some of that. But it's still worth a try!Ika (cuttlefish) NigiriI would say that this was the only part of the meal that disappointed me. It just wasn't as fresh as it could've been. Texture wasn't quite there, and quite fishy.Milk TempuraDelicious - you don't see this menu item that much, and we were so thankful they had it. Piping hot, not too sweet, light crisp... A delicious dessert.Customer serviceThey went above and beyond. We have two kids, and setting up their booster seat while holding a million things can be a lot sometimes. But immediately, the waitress offered to help set up and situate the kids. When toys or other items fell from the table, they came and picked it up for us. Did I mention that they opened the door for us when I was holding our kid in the car seat?Granted, there weren't that many people at the time, which might have allowed them to go above and beyond in serving our family. Regardless, they showed a high level of thoughtfulness that is unheard of.Overall, recommend! If they can keep this going (great portions and ratios at an affordable menu price), there is no doubt in my mind that we'll be back in the near future.

I have been on the hunt for some more sushi spots and heard good things about Sushi Aroma. It's located in a strip mall with lots of parking available. Location seems just a smidge sketchy but it's fine. The restaurant itself is not fancy but definitely clean. It wouldn't be a place I would recommend for date night, but for a casual lunch or dinner, absolutely.Ordered the Blazing Salmon Roll, the Soft Shell Crab Roll, and the Unagi roll. Service was very good - easy going but attentive.The Blazing Salmon Roll contains the most salmon I've ever had in a Maki roll. It was delicious and good value considering the amount of salmon in there. It is served with some kind of sweet sauce on top and for me, I found it too sweet. I would definitely order again but ask for less sauce or sauce on the side. That is being very picky though - it was really good! Soft shell crab roll was delicious and served warm. Unagi roll was just okay compared to the other two. Good, but nothing special.For two people, we shared 3 rolls for lunch and it was $43. A little pricey but all sushi seems to be nowadays and again, the amount of salmon in that salmon roll made it definitely worth it.I would highly recommend and will be back again!

Great little place for sushi! The food is fresh and made with care. The busy sushi chef takes pride in his craft. This is not a place to go if you are in a hurry. It seems to be a family owned restaurant and they don't have a lot of staff. They are very busy with serving customers and their take out orders. Just relax and enjoy the company you're with. The salmon combo is our favorite! We usually order one each, along with shrimp and yam tempura, new BC roll, soft shell crab roll and salmon sashimi. Have been here a few times and will continue to come here for our sushi cravings. Friendly staff and clean restaurant.
