Pomeroy Sport Centre

I am a speed skating coach and former competitor who greatly benefited from this facility and still continue to travel to the facility for training camps and competition. The facility features 2 NHL sized hockey rinks (also with the capabilities to convert into a short track rink), a 400m Long Track Olympic sized Oval. a 350m rubberized running track suspended above the facility with a birds eye view. The City of Fort St. John has done an excellent job with providing our region with a great center for winter sports

You can't just walk in and rent skates. I was told you have to order them ahead of time. There is just one guy that does the rentals and he's not always there. I had to watch the family skate because I didn't have my own skates. The place looked cool. Big huge skating oval. Lots of people and kids there. Seemed pretty low key.

Nice place to hang out and run on the track or play basketball, also a lobby thing with a bunch of stuff and an elevator for easy access to floors

Awesome sports center attended the trade show as vendor. All of Ft. St. John showed up

It's a good place to come and chill hats the walking Track they have a great program for kids and other school stuff people should come and check out what they have for everybody

I was visiting FSJ and stopped in here to take a fitness class that was advertised. This Sports Centre is very nice and it seems there are lots of options of things to do here to serve the community, like free ice skating. If I lived in FSJ I would definitely come use the free track, which is cool because it’s an open track built above the ice arenas! I see they have a very nice little gym here too, but when I asked about paying a drop-in fee to use it I was told it’s only for students to use which seems like a missed opportunity. I was also a bit disappointed with my drop-in fitness experience: I saw the class advertised, created an account and signed up/paid online, drove to the arena the day of, and long story short the doors were locked and the class had apparently been cancelled but I was not notified in any fashion. I eventually got my money refunded, but they didn’t even refund the full amount to my VISA — I guess some of the cost is kept as a “processing fee”, but that’s kind of ridiculous when they were the ones who made the error.

This place is great they have hockey rinks to skating rinks and a wonderful running track always clean free skating in sundays and the running track is too 10/10
