We had an ice damming incident that required a complete rebuild of our sunroom. Lydale came in and repaired it back to looking better than new. The whole staff from top to bottom were a delight. Will use this company again for sure

Recently Lydale was referred to me to repair my ceiling from ice damage that occurred during the winter months 2021. It was quite an extensive undertaking as it involved removing my entire main floor ceiling and making it look like new again. I cant say enough about their professionalism and respect towards my home and myself. For myself it was a stress free fix at a time when my stress levels were very high. They fixed everything so beautifully. They painted and mudded and went the extra mile to protect my home while they did all this and more. Everyone worked very hard. I feel so much gratitude for all they did and would recommend them to everyone. It wasn't 5 stars , It was 10. Thank-you to all of you.

In the intial inspection they found that the walls as well as ceiling needed to be replaced. Later they decided it was too much work or maybe they would be out bid if they included that price, so instead they painted the walls instead of replacing them. They did a decent job quality wise, but also wrecked things. The drywallers left mud on mostly of the windows and sockets/switches. Not a big deal I guess. They also left parts of the job undone and I had to call them back. The biggest reason I gave them 2 stars was because they seemed to think that because my counters and furniture were outdated, it was all garbage and treated it that way. Left something corrosive on top of the piano which destroyed it, left appoxy which I haven't been able to remove on nearly every countertop, got paint on counters and my kitchen table, and wrecked some of my items during moving them. Also wrecked the front screen door.My house could have used an update but now that most things are wrecked, it needs one. Thanks for the 5 months away to come back to this.

When tragedy hits, you can count on Lydale to understand your stressed out situation....Very personable, and they have your back. After hours, we made them one of our first calls to mitigate any further damages. They were professional and courteous, knew exactly what to do. Their cleaning staff were thorough, respectful, friendly and trustworthy.

Poor customer service. Constantly having to reach out via email, phone calls and re- follow ups only to hear back on average at least 7 days later or longer with one sentence responses. Would ask for quotes and to be kept in the loop as they deal directly with SGI. This did not happen on numerous occasions, their loyalty was first to insurance company rather than the customer.

The disaster response team was great, except for they did not send in the flooring sample to ICC as agreed upon with SGI. Extended all the work 1.5 weeks!Over the course of our 2 month restoration project numerous phone calls were made to clarify the schedule & responsibilities with Lydale. I followed up each phone call with an email.Every Time I thought there was a schedule with Lydale I was told it was my responsibility to organize. When I tried to organize a schedule with Lydale and AC flooring, I’d be told by Lydale it was already scheduled with a hint of annoyance. I apologized but I don't think it was accepted. There may have been confusion regarding the Scope, but it was either not looked at or ignored.Friday Aug 4th I became concerned when I was told by Lydale it was ready for flooring, My tenant would tell me they came by for 10 minutes each day that week I naturally became concerned because it would take a lot longer to remove/replace 2ft of damaged drywall in the bathroom, and remove baseboards throughout the apartment. That's when I decided to stop in after work to see how things were going; none of the baseboards were removed, which is required to put down new flooring. This I believe is when things went downhill, and our relationship went sour.I still continued to communicate and tried not to aggravate. I just wanted to be informed.Thursday Aug 17th there was some questions about what rooms Lydale wanted flooring done first, I emailed and called to clarify, it was made clear to me by Lydale that they were organizing this part of the project with AC Flooring. Freddy from Lydale informed me via telephone they would start the last phase of the restoration project Tuesday Aug 22; I of course followed up with an email.Sunday Aug 20th I emailed to remind Lydale of the Aug 22nd start date, and that there would be preventative pest control Aug 24th and no work could be done that day.Monday Aug 21st I called and spoke with Kent to reconfirm my email and the start date of Aug 22nd.I felt I did a good job confirming appointments and would just follow up end of the week. Then I got a call from my Tenant Wednesday Aug 23rd saying Lydale has not showed up Tuesday Aug 22nd or the 23rd.I called Lydale, Kent & Freddy were out of office, I sent an email.Called 30mins later and got thru to Kent whom was surprised no one has started.I was forwarded to Freddy whom now told me they came by on Monday to start work but the flooring was not complete & did not start on the next day as scheduled because no one told him it was done. I'm not sure why they showed up a day early, if flooring was behind schedule I would have informed Lydale as I have been doing even if they were in the loop and had a schedule. I was told they would start immediately Aug 23rd but could not provide a scheduled date of completion. My whole experience with Lydale had been like this.Sept 1st, Lydale had been trying for 5 days to get a plumber, I only found out it was done when i stopped by the apartment. no one told me it was done.I would not recommend Lydale for restoration. Demolition in a pinch. No one at Lydale replies to Emails, you can not contact them on their Cell Phones only by patching thru the office. Their whole communication setup needs to be looked at. I never felt at any one point they were in control or cared. Never had a schedule. They would just pop in random times throughout the day. No one thinks they are doing a bad job, everyone thinks they are going over and above. I just did not experience that or see it.

We had used Lydale for a simple claim to remove and replace flooring. We had met with Aaron Pierce who was the general contractor and project manager on numerous occasions to discuss a custom piece of walnut furniture that was really important to us and that could not be damaged. I even went so far as to label it again for the workers. I met with Aaron again before the job was scheduled and stressed how important it was to be careful with this extremely valuable piece of custom made furniture.Upon arriving after the job was “finished” we were surprised to find all the bottles from a liquor cabinet was emptied on top of the very important piece of furniture that we had met several times to specifically say was important. Our house was completely covered in a thick layer of flooring dust. We texted a picture to Aaron who immediately started to blame the people who installed the flooring. I was surprised to learn that Aaron who was given the relatively easy task of co ordinating only two sets of workers failed to communicate anything to the flooring installers. When we texted him he said he thought the job was “done” so we were tasked with sending him pictures of baseboards still not on, our house completely dirty, our furniture stacked in the entrance to bedrooms, and our furniture damaged. Once in communication with the Lydale workers who were supposed to move the furniture they we found out they only moved small items which had been piled into our bedrooms restricting access to the rooms when we arrived home. They left the liquor cabinet which I had specifically shown Aaron how to remove the cabinet doors to make it lighter to move. I told him there was room in the basement for all the furniture. When the Lydale employees didn’t move the liquor cabinet the flooring installers who had been given zero directions from the general contractor Aaron put the bottles on the expensive piece of furniture. I was also told by the installers that they had to remove baseboards as well. Lydale quoted on moving furniture that wasn’t moved, and removing baseboards and a small independent flooring installer ended up doing the work for free. Additionally, Lydale made the flooring installers pay for the repair of the furniture making the job unprofitable for them when it’s the responsibility of the general contractor to communicate with everyone what is expected at the job. In the end they got cleaners to clean the house and also charged that to the flooring installers. At the end of everything I couldn’t open my cabinet doors because they were hitting on the stove. They sent a finisher over to move my stove which then caused the stove to leak from the fitting. I was told by insurance to withhold payment until I was satisfied so because my stove was leaking I asked Aaron to get that sorted out and I’d give him the cheque.Fast forward to today and I have no use of my stove, SaskEnergy had to shut off my gas.If you are reading this review I would highly suggest that you co-ordinate your own trades. The insurance company said if we used Lydale they would guarantee the work, they would move all the furniture and that they would take away any hassle. From my experience if you end up getting any outside installers there will be no communication between the project manager so you’ll end up having to be the middle man. They didn’t move all my furniture and left it to the flooring installers which wasn’t their responsibility and then blamed them for everything. My stove still has a leak and since they have been paid already I imagine that will also end up being my responsibility to get fix and I will be stuck with the bill. Document everything and take a lot of pictures as they will also ask for proof. For a simple remove and replace flooring claim, and being super clear on expectations everything that could go wrong did go wrong and they stopped communicating with us. They said they had the wrong email address but had both our phone numbers and we were in direct contact with the project manager. The “guarantee” is nothing
