NO Care at all, in emergency department!!! The worst night ever. My 4 years old was very sick. Non stop diarrhea and vomiting also dehydrated. The waiting area register nurse and nurse they don’t really care, specially if you are black. Special the lady who worked may 10 at 2:50, she is so rude. If anyone agree with me please comment. Who ever is in control of that, they need to check this department.

Very frustrating wait time. I mean no one cares if your kid is in pain or what? They don’t care. I couldn’t understand such kind of medical services especially for kids. The nurses and doctors are loafing around showing they are busy … how long it takes for a doctor to see a patient kid? We waited for 6 hours … it’s not a joke 6 hours and my small little daughter was crying of unknown pain ??Free medical services should be like this.

Came today June 15, 2023 as my 3 year old son was having very high fever for few days, cough and cold for 4 mos and vomiting for 2 days. Doctors and some nurses are nice and but I am giving 3 stars due to wait time which is expected and also for the staff named MATTHEW - He is RN in triage today. He shouldn't be dealing with kids. He is the most heartless human being I've met. Wonder why he's still working in children's hospital whereas he couldn't even handle a sick child. He's like a robot. Just working for money. Heartless nurse I've ever met.Matthew, you are a disgrace in healthcare especially in Sickkids. Seemed like you don't like what you're doing. You better resign.

We had a terrible time with the baby at the emergency department. It took them 6 hours before the doctor saw the baby. Everything is fine, but there is no proper distancing and we hope we didn't catch anything at the hospital. We are not coming back.

Have been to SickKids ER many times, they are the best. If your kid is high priority, you won't wait, if they're low you will. What frustrated parents don't seem to understand is that emergency rooms are not first come first serve. Yes waiting can be frustrating, but I would rather have to wait hours than have my kid be deemed high priority in the busiest pediatric ER in the country.

I am very disappointed with the doctor in emergency attempt my daughter where did not assess my observation statement of my daughter , instead assuming it is common sickness where to treat as viral. As a doctor you should consider and taking a serious the finding from parents that know more details past condition of the patient. Now my daughter still experience with same issue, if i bring her again it will be the same patern treatment given.I am not satisfied with the summary report and only just to close the matter. It is really waste the time dealing with this kind of services, including waiting time. I am very shock the well known Medical facility delivered such this services , it was far behind to compare with other country / home country. Theory and practical should come with balance.

My sister brought her 3 year old son there as he kept vomiting non stop. 8 hours and they're still in the waiting area not seen by a doctor. Poor thing is exhausted. After throwing up so many times, he asked for something to eat....the hospital staff said he can't have anything until the doktor sees him. But when??? How many more hours? Where are our taxes going? Why don't you hire more staff??? Going in emergency is stressful as you don't know the time being there.

I have been waiting here for 4 hours now with a 6 month old baby! He had high temperature so we rushed here at 5am in the morning after monitoring him for whole night. When asked them when can we be seen after 3 hours of wait, the member (beside the registration - could be a nurse herself) was very rude and was not even tiny bit sympathetic to our situation! She even made a comment behind my back when she said she has “ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHEN THE DOCTOR IS GOING TO SEE US” and said to her fellow colleague (behind my back) “it’s east or west”! I mean is this a hospital?? My 6 month old is continuously crying, hasn’t been able to drink milk and looks like he is in pain…. Really Govt. of Canada - is this how you are going to operate an emergency sector??? And Sickkids - can you at least make some effort to see the infants to your best? Highly disappointed!!!

Dear Sick Kids Emergency Staff,You are by far the most heartless humans in the world. A 20 hour wait with a toddler is not considered emergency services it is torture. The excuse that you are busy is not an excuse, you are an emergency department.

Being familiar with SK, especially the ED, I find it appalling the complaints that are here, and mostly from those who came in during the pandemic. Why did you come to SK? I can guarantee you that the majority of you probably passed at least two hospitals to come to SK. Just think about that logistical issue there. Instead of going to your local emergency you came to SK….ALL OF YOU! Do you even care about the stress that places on a hospital system with finite staff and space? Evidently not. Instead, you come to SK, get alerted about the approximate wait time (oh, yes you did) and decide to stay any way.The other complaint about being moved around from one waiting area to another. Did you ask why? I did. Do you all want to be packed into a small confined area with other sick children, potentially infectious ones. Of course not! The staff were thinking about YOUR welfare as you waited along with all the others who did not go to their local emergency department. When you go to SK ED there are no surprises. Signs are everywhere, and the wait time is clearly displayed. Stop whining!
