Guildford Park Secondary School

One of the best Public High Schools in Surrey! Very involved Parents & Teachers. The learning environment is great as the bullying is next to zero at this school. We love GP!

Wonderful building with nice outlay. Amazing staff with happy students. Even during Summer break they are providing special classes for the benefit of students which is very appreciated.

We were very disappointed toward to the expressions & attitudes of the young caucasian man who claimed to be the teacher of this school. We were here as the parents to support the basketball team. We were exciting a bit loud because the our team was leading by 1 point in the last few seconds. He told us to shut up. We asked him why? He said I am the teacher here

I went to attend my grandchildren first music concert since 2019. They enjoy the Music teacher and after being there tonight I totally understand why.Besides it is always nice to go back and revisit my school days at the old Guildford Park.

I still go to this school. its great. but there's still some things that just annoyed me to no avail, its the fact that the teachers don't do anything when people are being bullied

But after she attacked my daughter yesterday afternoon this school is the kind of school that will punish someone for defending themselves instead of the insticator this is not how you should raise kids

The cafeteria cookies are HEAVENLY! My personal favourite are the gingerbread cookies that they sell around Christmas. I don't like oatmeal cookies, but somehow, they manage to make the oatmeal cookies taste EXQUISITE!!!! Every cookie ever sold here is a 10/10 !!! I don't know who makes the cookies, but whoever you are, Gordon Ramsey should be ashamed of himself for not hiring you! ABSOLUTELY DELICOUS !!!!!!!

Administrators seemed more interested in punishing poor performance/ behaviour than they were in giving help for deteriorating mental health. I would give one star due to the staff and system who were set to doom un-priviledged and unlucky students to a dull future, but I'll give two for the many good teachers that helped to undo the damage and actually cared enough to put in the little bit of effort it took to make a tremendous change in course in my life. If I hadn't been lucky enough to have some of those good teachers, the thought of where I'd be doomed to thanks to the unsympathetic and uncaring principal and admin staff at the time still scares me to this day.

In all honesty, I didn't realize how terrible this school actually was until I transferred. The teachers there absolutely deteriorated my mental health and confidence, despite their constant encouragement to find help in the school staff if students were ever at a low point in their lives. Additionally, the staff and teachers always expected the worst from me in terms of attitude even though I was not a troubled kid and almost always received a G for my classroom behaviour. On top of that, it wasn't only just me. There were a few other students there that teachers would target for no logical reason, and I wish them all the best if they still choose to attend Guilford Park. Overall, It took me a very long time to gain back my self-confidence and trust in my school work because of the treatment that I had received from GP teachers. I am grateful to my parents for letting me transfer to another school.Now, if the school staff were my only complaint, then I wouldn't be writing this review today. I found the teaching strategy of many to be impractical and obviously not the best for most students. It was all heavily unorganized and some teachers even resorted to adding test questions that weren't even on the notes. They would label it as a challenge, which would make sense if it were a subject related to math, but it was a Socials course... yikes.At first, I was contemplating whether or not I should give this school a two star because I did find the students at Guilford Park to be very welcoming, but... no. They're nice people, don't get me wrong, but most of the time they just don't know when too much is too much. A lot of boundaries were crossed during my time there and there was not much respect for privacy. I just hope that this generation of GP students can find a hobby instead of resorting to drama for entertainmentDespite the last two paragraphs, the cafeteria food was very tasty and delicious. The portions were always quite generous with decent prices. Sometimes, there were even meal deals where you could get 2 for the price of 1. But this isn't a food court, it's a public high school. Therefore, my rating still stands at one star.
