Most patrons don’t dance and are standoffish. Moreover, bartenders are rude and curt, including one named Dell. There are better places. Go to the straight bars, they are more welcoming. However, the music here is good so there’s that.

I read through some of the negative reviews but decided to give this a visit in separate occasions. I actually really like it. The staff are kind, hilarious and a few eccentric. The patrons made me feel welcome, some have clearly been going there for a long time. Karaoke night was bouncing. Drinks are great. Support your local LGBT venues!

Karaoke at Pumpjack ended my birthday night. I've always loved gay bars for their welcoming and fun atmosphere while being a space where I can let my hair down, without having to fight off potential suitors.I noticed that this bar had various themed nights and made a note to visit on Wednesday for karaoke. The lwereast time that I've been out for karaoke was two years ago, so this was a welcomed reprieve.The bar wasn't packed, but there were enough people for it to feel full. There was the main lounge area - at the entrance - then the karaoke area - then an area with a pool table.I quickly found seating at the bar and enjoyed a night of karaoke and fabulous men and women who were all so very friendly and fun. There are a couple of other themed nights that I wanted to attend (leather and teddy bear nights), but all in all - I had a great time.I'm hoping to visit in the future again.

Edited May 30th to add that I do like the place, and I come with my friends semi regularly. I'm still not happy with my service last year, but I haven't had anything like it since.Ordered two shots of tequila twice. Both times one glass was visibly less than the other, and when I brought it up to the bartender, he was flipant. He said the lines on the glass was arbitrary, and didn't give me the time to explain. He clearly is messing up his pours on multiple glasses, and his customer service is poor.

I had a very bad experienceJust for resting my head for less than a minute, a tall white bartender told me to leave very rudely!It was my first time there and what a bad experience!Be nice!!!!!!Or at least have manners!!!

I’ve always enjoyed myself... especially on Saturday nights. I definitely think it’s the best gay club in Vancouver (really in all of western Canada). I like the house music and the muscly shower dancers. It won’t be everybody’s thing but I like this sort atmosphere and this club generally attracts a handsome clientele.

Don’t let the other reviews deter you my first time in Canada the doorman and bartenders were so nice to me even tho I couldn’t even pronounce the Canadian beers offered . The staff was super cool good music and vibes go check it out ! Def will be back !

Amazing venue and great atmosphere.They had a low door charge even with huge events happening. Definately a great value for the space as well as drinks were very well priced. Plus a friendlier atmosphere once you were inside.Oh and they had a back patio that was a nice space to cool down and enjoy.
