Galt House of Yarn

The store is very nice. Lots of room to display their beautiful yarn, lots of selection at different price points which is great. Service was ok, but disappointed there no offer to wind skeins and didn't see a station to do this. That would be a nice touch as I've seen that at other yarn stores of this caliber.

Such a great store, helpful staff and quality products. Sad they are moving from downtown, but hoping the new location is even bigger!Love that they have patterns for various items named after nostalgic places in our city!!!Updated: Feb 2023 - love the new location! Appreciate having such an awesome LYS so close to home and with such an incredible variety. Huge fan of ChiaoGoo knitting needles and it is so convenient to just stop in and grab whatever additional bits I need.In the fall I successfully knit my first pair of socks (House socks pattern) and am working on a few more pair before I try a hat pattern with colour work!Updated: June 2023 - just love this store so much! Hoping I can take part in some of the classes soon, I want to learn some new techniques and don't have anyone to help me along! Picked up more yard (can you ever have enough?) and more DPNs today.

Wonderful customer service. I needed to match a yarn with just a vague idea of what I had, and the lady was able to give me two options within a couple minutes of looking. As well she gave me a quick walk-through on how to unwind the Hank of yarn I got and wind it into a ball by hand. Overall very kind and helpful, I will definitely be coming back whenever I need something.

A wonderful local yarn store filled with yarn and notions from Canada and beyond. Offering both hand dyed and commercial yarns there’s something for anyone’s budget here. I’ve ordered several times online and have been very happy with my parcel - although in-person shopping is a must at this store - so many sample knits! Staff are helpful and classes are back up and running. This store has many free patterns that are both on their site and on Ravelry. Their online presence is really thoughtful as well - many tips, updated products and current colours are always on display. If you aren’t following them online already, they are worth following them!!Parking and store are both accessible. Construction on the street made navigating a bit tricky but we figured it out!

Just discovered this little gem of a shop. So many brands I can't get near where I live so I make the trip out there. I love the cross section of higher end, bespoke and also economical yarns they carry.Have always found customer service here to be excellent. Really appreciated this as I am not a new knitter, but nowhere near an expert and sometimes I just need my hand held through the decision making process.

I was looking for a specific yarn and I was trying to buy online. I only just heard of Galt House of Yarn through the website, I placed my order and an hour later it was ready for pick up. I don’t think I’ll be shopping anywhere else as that service was amazing and your inventory was even better.I would be interested in knitting and crochet classes if you offer them through your store?
