El Mero Mero Taqueria
My husband and I went on a little lunch date this afternoon and stumbled upon El Mero Mero. We had seen their food trucks and loved their food, so we pulled into the restaurant. Upon entering we were pleasantly greeted by the team (front of house and kitchen). The decor in the restaurant is simply stunning and having local artisanal items for purchase was such a nice touch. We took our seat at the bar and were promptly served a Piña Colada and Michelada con Clamato, both of which were made deliciously. We ordered our food and didn’t have to wait long to enjoy it. I ordered the camarón tacos which were an amazing culinary experience, and my husband ordered the suadero tacos. He ate them silently which only means that were too delicious to take a break to speak haha. We had such an amazing experience dining in at the restaurant. Not only was the food and drink exceptional, the staff was clearly enjoying their time making delicious food, and the kitchen, restaurant and bathrooms were impeccably clean. We both highly recommend dining in at El Mero Mero!

I went to this place for lunch and I have to say, I was really excited about it. The place itself is really nice and clean, and the staff is friendly. We tried quite a few dishes, but unfortunately, some were really salty and others were just flavorless. The Jamaica water was good, but the horchata tasted like milk and the dessert didn't taste good at all. It felt like it was really old and it was way too expensive for such a small portion. We also tried a torta, which was okay. The elote was good, but it was also pretty expensive. Overall, I would give this place 3 stars. It's a nice place to go for a drink, but I wouldn't recommend it for lunch or supper.Bulldog was the best ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

El Mero Mero Taqueria
My wife and I recently decided to give El Mero Mero Taqueria a try since it was conveniently located nearby. We opted for the sampler, which allowed us to choose five different flavors of meat. Among them, the Al Pastor and Fish Tacos stood out as my personal favorites. The Elotes were pretty good but if you're used to Taber corn it'll be different from that sweet soft texture. We visited this taqueria for lunch and my initial excitement was well-founded. The restaurant itself has a pleasant ambiance and is kept clean. The staff members were friendly, although slightly busy during our visit. It seemed like they were in the midst of preparing their lunch special or something similar. While enjoying our meal, we also decided to try their churros. Unfortunately, the inside of the churros seemed slightly undercooked, as the batter was still chewy.El Mero Mero Taqueria is a fantastic place to experience authentic tacos with a wide selection in Edmonton. The restaurant's environment is cool and unique, featuring art that adorns the ceilings and floors. Before finalizing my review, I would like to try a few more menu items to get a better sense of their overall offerings. Nevertheless, as a newcomer in town, it's definitely worth a visit.

It was pretty good. I liked the fish tacos, but did not like the tamales. It was fine, but there are so many Mexican restaurants in Edmonton that are outstanding, so I probably won't go out of my way to return to this one.

This is our new favourite Mexican restaurant in YEG! The atmosphere was welcoming, relaxed and fun - really cool artwork on the walls. The service was fantastic, our drinks were never empty and everything was quick! The best part, the food! We started with gauc and chips…definitely the best of both I’ve had - I could have left just eating that and been happy. Also started with the queso funido with chorizo, which was also fantastic…the cheese pull was top notch! We split the birria tacos and the pescado - both had beautiful presentations and out of this world flavours! I do have to pick favourites…the birria. I could have drank that broth! Super tender and so flavourful - you guys take the cake in the city for the best! They had really tempting dessert options, but we were already stuffed, so that will be visit #2.

My husband LOVES tacos and he's been wanting to try El Mero Mero for a while now. There were big expectations around the restaurant and everything was DELICIOUS! We opted for guacamole and chips (Guacamole y Totopos) to start as it was a bit late and we were hungry. The taco platter was the way to go: 10 tacos with 5 different filling options was a great way to sample everything. I loved the fish taco best and the carnitas were a close second. The Jamaica water was refreshing and not too sweet or tart and La Mula Mexicana was all the delightful parts of a Moscow Mule, but with smooth Mezcal. The atmosphere was fun and the music was at a good ambient level: loud enough to enjoy but not so loud you can't carry on a conversation easily at your table. We would love to come back and will try to make a reservation next time as they were SO busy on a Saturday night.
