This service is life changing! As someone with chronic health issues that create barriers to employment; I have felt so welcomed and supported by the team here! I also joined their Pathways program to get me ready to re-enter the workforce after long term leave, it was great! Amazing place, amazing people!

Such an amazing and welcoming team there, I was in the Pathways to Employment program and it made such a difference for me. Not only did I receive the tools I needed for employment but I also received some really awesome and accommodating people by my side to help advocate for me and teach me how to better advocate for myself. In the program i was assigned Jenn as a job coach and she was absolutely amazing! Very kind and understanding and makes it easy to work around my now very busy work schedule. Huge shoutout to both Jenn and Carla for all of their help and encouragement. Thanks to the Pathways to Employment program I was able to find a job that I absolutely love!

The Goodwill at 3505 Upper Middle and Walkers Line Burlington is not just a great location with lots of free parking.... The staff are there for US!The Goodwill Team is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. They understand how hard it is to be unemployed and are there to help.Very informative educational workshops and the networking sessions bring us all together to learn and work through our difficult times. The monthly calendar is a great tool and reminders via email are very helpful too.Their door is always open to help us.

I recieved a pamphlet from Burlington MP Karina Goulds office regarding where to get help finding employment. One of the listed choices was Goodwill Career Centre. On Jan 30 2017, around 9am I arrived at this Career Centre anticipating that I would be greeted by a friendly staff, willing to help me with my employment search. I was asked to fill in a standard form with my information, which I started to do but was stopped part of the way through with a question from the person who gave me the form. She asked me what the first number of my SIN was. When I said that first number is a nine(9) She informed me that they could not help me unless my SIN started with either a 4 or 5. When I inquired as to why that is, she told me that a SIN beginning with a 9 indicates that I am not a Permanent Resident and that I am classed as a refugee. I told the woman that I am not a refugee and that I am legally entitled to live and work in Canada, and that I have a valid work permit issued by the Government of Canada. She insisted that they could not help me and suggested that they would be happy to, if or when the first number of my SIN was changed to a 5. She added that the Centre is funded by the Government and they must follow the rules.I came to Canada in 2011 on a Government issued work permit that has been renewed two times since. I am a very hard working contributor to my community and have my P.R. application in process with the dream of becoming a Canadian Citizen very soon.In the pamphlet I recieved it states FREE Employment services
