Ricardo's Hideaway
Awesome spot. We couldn’t quite peg if we felt more Hawaiian or Caribbean, but it’s a delight to find either in Canada. More vintage Cuban speakeasy than tiki bar. The drinks were creative and delicious, food wise we just had the popcorn. Bartender and server were fantastic! Small inside but wonderful open air patio.

Huge disappointment. Service was terrible. Food is average. It owned by a chain and the food reflects that. I had to ask for hot sauce three times, and then was told I would be charged for it, and then finally after close to 25 minutes after my food was cold received a small container of essentially tobasco (not sure how you profess to be a Carribean place and have no hot sauce and then try to charge people for it). Drinks took almost 30 minutes twice. I had to go to the bar twice asking for drinks. Would not recommend anyone goes here and I will definitely not be going back and telling anyone I know not to go here. Complete disaster.

I'm pretty sure that the service was terrible. I'm also working as server so I know it is too hard to care all table when it was super busy. BUT we have endure to get a just 'menu' and the server also forgot the menu what we ordered. SO we have to wait so many time and finally the server was disappeared LOL. It's not make sense to treat like that at the restaurant. I'm really hope that the service get better to everybody.

I make a point of coming here once a year or so as a treat.Look, if you never have the ingredients for the Trinidad Sour, just do us a favour and take it off the menu finally so I can stop getting my hopes up. In fact, since I’ve been coming, Ricardo’s doesn’t have the ingredients for about 1/3 of its cocktails on a routine basis so I’m not sure why they’re even on the menu.Having worked in the service industry before, this place seems to be incredibly bare-bones in staff. There was no host, one server for all the tables, and only one bartender for the entire bar. While we sat at the bar, the lone bartender went out of his way to give excellent service during our night, despite the bar being very busy.Had the most delicious Oxtail Curry, Roti, and Short Rib I have ever had in my life. I guess I’m fortunate they had the ingredients around to make it.

We had an early bday dinner here on sat night (6pm). This was a great time to go, as it wasn't overly busy. Our server took great care of us and made it a real special visit. The food was amazing. If the plantain chips were made in house, I'd be happy to pay the premium for it.Left full. Drinks were tasty. Great date night. Can't wait to visit again when the patio reopens.

Ricardo's Hideaway is a good place to eat, we went there for a food experience.The food amalgamates cerrabian experience to cater the Canadian taste buds.The drink menu looks great, hoping they add a few more cocktails from the countries.The staff is very friendly and would help with suggestions for drinks and food if you have an challenge selecting.The over food experience was okay, the ambiance of the place was great as well.

Great times here, the manager treated us as if we were a part of her family! Boy were we spoiled. 151 rum, pineapple juice, Malibu made the boys come! There was 15 of us, service impeccable! Food adequate, we were satiated. Will be back!

Food was excellent! Made the mistake of coming here when I couldn't eat meat so we ordered the meatless dishes and everything we ate was delicious! The cheese empanada is a must! Service was amazing! Will definitely be back when we can try everything.

The patio is super cute and nice atmosphere. Only downside is that it's currently facing a ton of construction and it's hard to get to also for that reason. Not a lot of food on the menu and some items are a bit pricey, but the food is delicious and service is great. The cheese empanadas are my favourite!

I can't believe I lived in Calgary this long without going to this place, it really is a hideaway. Let me tell you what you're missing out on - AWESOME service, the drinks were outstanding and I would highly recommend the classic daiquiri. Then, when we thought it couldn't get any better, our food came and I was blown away. We got the Jamaican patties which were good, but the Maui Rib was soo good we ordered another. We probably could have gone for thirds but i had an excessive amount of meat that day. Before leaving I went to the washroom which held an awesome surprise in the form of fun wallpaper. perfect for selfies....although the lighting wasn't great lol. The only thing i would change about this place is the uncomfortable bar stools - super cramped. Everything else was perfect, this place just speaks to my soul and I will be going back often now.
