Assi Market Burnaby

I love shopping for groceries and Korean food items at Assi Market. Their produce and meats are fresh. Their in house made kimbap is delicious!

Really good quality meat for hotpot. Easy and free parking. They also have very fresh mushroom and Korean cabbage.

Have gone in a few times to look around, and more recently showed it to my wife who liked it.Nice convenient location just off Kingsway in South Burnaby. Not super big, but has a good selection of Asian sauces, canned, and dry stuff my wife uses in her cooking.

One of the cashier was so rude to the Chinese elder couple and yelled at them. They didn't do anything wrong just don't understand what the cashier said. as a service job person. They should know how to handle any situation and be nice to everyone. If they don't like what they are doing. Just go home and chill then. Don't work there. Unbelievable service. Especially being rude to seniors.

Assi homemade Kimbap and seafood melodey pancake are very fresh and delicious. I'm looking forward to try other food. Very clean ambience and good service.

Plenty of parking, small local Korean grocery mart but big enough to carry all you need. Prices are usually better than H mart and H market as well.

Assi is a pretty cool Korean grocery store. It has almost all the Korean cooking ingredients that I need, I especially like the seasonings and the maki sushi. However, the price of the groceries have really gained over the pandemic. Used to be able to buy potato noodles there for under $2, is now $4+. But so is everywhere else, just that the brand of the noodle is Assi brand, but it is the same price in Price Smart and not cheaper in its own store.I like shopping there for specific ingredients, but I don't really like the service there so I try to be quick and go in and out without taking too much time. The staff hate people bringing their own bags to shop there, and insist customers to use their trolley which is not visually clean looking to me. But if you buy their bags, they are ok with it if you came back shopping in their bag. Kind of a double standard if you ask me. All the staff there are Korean it seems, so perhaps it's communication issue? Checking out is fine, but anything else becomes difficult to communicate. All in all, a good place to find your special ingredients, but I tend to not like staying for long.

A great variety of Korean food selection & Labels are clear for customer who doesn't understand Korean. Meat selections are often more expensive compare to other butcher places but its quality match its price. Vegetable are clear wrapped and often has great deals. Dry-goods/spices/tea&snack sections also includes other East-Asian goods as well. Love the authentic spices/paste in the store.
