McClintock's Water Ski School & Pro Shop

For Christmas this year my husband and I decided to buy my daughter a new ski, and my daughter and I decided to buy my husband a new ski. As a result, things started to get a bit challenging as I worked with Jason and the McClintock team through the logistics of keeping both gift secrets safe until Christmas morning. They truly went above and beyond and both my daughter and husband are thrilled. Thank you McClintocks for your exceptional service!

My 15 year old daughter hannah loves it there! She has been skiing with Jason McClintock and his team going on 6 seasons now. When school finishes in June, she packs up and heads out to McClintock’s Waterski School to spend the summer.Currently on the Canadian Junior National Team, she has grown tremendously as an athlete and a competitor. She looks up to Jason as her coach, world champion athlete himself, and down to earth guy who like to have fun both on and off the water.She also loves the social component. When not on the water, she hangs out with the other kids playing cards, paddle boarding, swimming, and riding in the boat to encourage her fellow athletes and other kids learning how to ski.Run by Jaime and Jason, a husband and wife team, the ski school fosters a family run feeling that has been in operation for 3 generations.Whether you are striving to become a competitive athlete or just learn to ski, this is the place to go. The staff at McClintocks have always provided me with more support than I expected.It is fun to go for a ski there, and I get to see old friends there almost every time I go for a ski.Their expertise can help any level of skier improve their abilities.

I have been frequenting McClintock's Water Ski School for over 20 years. McClintock's provide world class instruction with top level boating and ski equipment all in a friendly and welcoming environment. I highly recommend McClintock's for waterski novices and experts alike.

I knew about McClintocks Ski School for many years before I finally took the plunge and went for my first lesson. I was always too intimidated to go over as I thought it would be full of younger extremely good competitive skiers that would wonder why a guy my age was taking lessons for. Boy was I wrong. Yes there was some great skiers there and some competed on a regular basis but everyone was so welcoming and helpful. I quickly got addicted to the slalom course and made many life long friends. I get out multiple times a week and everyone there treats you like family and helps and encourages you to get to your next level of skiing. I would highly recommend McClintocks Ski school to anyone interested in learning to ski or anyone that wants to take their skiing to the next level and meet a lot of great people and have an amazing time while doing it.

Wanted a new ski. My son skis on a Radar so I wanted to try one. I made an appointment, drove 3 hours to Cambridge. Booked a room in town and skied the next day. The girls at the shop were very courteous and knowledgeable. I picked out two skis to try and headed iut in a new MC. Unfortunately, the weather sucked. Too windy to use the course. But our driver was wonderful. Found a relatively calm spot and I tried both skis several times. The young lady driving didn't hurry me, offered some excellent advise, and I bought a ski. They set it up for me and I left a satisfied customer. I love my new twig and would highly recommend these professionals when purchasing. This all took place during a covid time when most places locked down. We even had our lunch on the dock.

UPDATE response to McClintocks response: Creating a completely false narrative about me is disgraceful, slanderous, defamatory and lacks professionalism. How would this possibly benefit me to state any of this unless it was true, which it is. My review is honest, constructive and valid. I happen to film every time I've been there to document my little nieces, friends, cousins and I skiing there. Not once have I or anyone with me been rude to anyone affiliated with your club. In fact, it's been the opposite. It's my nature and those associated with me to be polite and kind with enthusiasm. It appears you are deflecting/gaslighting/projecting the negativity you presented yourself as being to me which sadly comes as no surprise when I asked for a refund after your staff did the unauthorized transaction. Prior to the transaction being made without my knowledge, I had already decided that I wasn't going to return to your club as I didn't appreciate the poor water quality and some of the unwelcome treatment that others and myself received from your club. You chose to inform me that I was banned after I asked for my money back that I didn't permit you to take because you said it was such a hassle to perform a VISA refund. Waterskiing is meant to be a fun time, we don't need the negativity you create for some. I do hope you will take this as an opportunity to take responsibility and practice inclusiveness and strong customer care across the board. It would serve you well. Looking at McClintocks other one star reviews and comments in addition to in person dialog at other ski clubs, it's obvious that I am not the only one who has been subject to this behaviour by them. \\\I have been an avid waterskier for decades on pristine waters from early childhood thanks to my parents who took me out daily growing up. It is my favourite sport and brings me great joy. I am grateful and fortunate to have family and friends to enjoy the sport with to this day whenever possible. I also foster and value heart based business practice.Learning about McClintocks was exciting for me and so I decided to go despite some red flag warnings by a number of dignified and respectful individuals who skied there in the past. I took their opinions with a grain of salt and decided to give McClintocks a number of chances for the love of the sport. I really wanted to like this place but sadly this club who boasts being the best place to ski in Ontario is not living up to such a statement. AT ALL. Being the best is more than having a few good drivers who compete in the sport.The lake water quality is the worst I have experienced. It is a stagnant, swampy smelling and gungy kettle bell lake with no water flow in or out. The water caused my skin to feel itchy and gave one of my friends an itchy rash this summer. Shower right after and be prepared to wash your bathing suit twice to get the lake smell out.Needless to say, the red flags mentioned above were correct. Keep an eye on your VISA as they made an unauthorized transaction without my permission for more than 1000 and then behaved poorly when I asked for them to kindly put my money back on my card. Instead of demonstrating professionalism and proper customer care, they rudely argued and threw insults which was hugely unprofessional and unwarrented. I also had to dispute with VISA an extra 100 they refused to give back which I won back.During their negativity over the unauthorized transaction, I reached out to the dignified and gold medalist sister in law in hopes to get resolve that was lacking. She stated with grace that she is no longer involved with the club but if she were still there, she would be running the business differently and apologized for McClintocks Ski School's mistreatment.

Absolute best place to ski in Ontario. Whether you are a seasoned tournament water skier, total beginner, or somebody that likes to have fun behind the boat at the cottage; McClintock's is THE spot to improve your skills, or learn totally new techniques while having an incredible amount of fun at the same time. The atmosphere on the dock and in the boats is energetic, supportive, and inclusive, making all first timers feel welcome. All of this comes along with top quality boats, gear, and world class coaching. McClintock's Ski School is legendary.

My kids both had summer camps at McClintock. They loved it. Coaches were very good and patient. There were 3-4 kids on a boat to take turn to have lessons. My kids loved food there. I had to pay extra for food but worthy of money. Highly recommended!!! My kids will go there again.

I had the pleasure spending two amazing summers working at McClintock’s Water Ski School. The ski staff and members there are world class and are extremely welcoming to all levels of skiers. Either you’re a competitive water skier or wanting to learn to ski for the first time this is the place to go! Nothing beats a day on the dock at McClintock’s!
