Funday ! Great vibes. Lots of dogs. Small and large. Big enough to keep away from the unfriendly dogs.

Great place to get away from it all in the city. Honorable mention...farmers market open every Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm...great place to get that exact something that's yummy and affordable.

A good-sized area where dogs have room to safely run, chase and play. A few benches and a picnic table, too!

Large and generally full of other dogs for you pup to play with, it can however turn into a bit of a cesspool when it rains and a dust bowl during a dry spell. It also becomes very dark as there is no direct lighting for the dog park. A small investment from the city to add some low wattage lighting, turf the area, and perhaps correct some of the drainage issues would make this so much better...Given how well used the park is and how well maintained the non-dog areas are, the off leash area really is sub-par.But for now it is what is available and is large enough for the dogs to burn some energy while being contained... there is a little bit of grass and on the average day the gravelly area is perfectly fine for the dogs to play... there are benches and picnic tables for you when you have no energy but the dog still has lots to burn.All in all... I think it comes down to the people and pooches that use this park that makes it rate higher than it should given the deficiencies but if you live in the west end it is a good option and a good place to run into or meet some of your neighbours... with both 2 and 4 legs...

If you'd like to see your dog run and mingle with other dogs, Nelson park is definitely where you'd wanna be. It's well fenced and secure. And there's water for energetic and thirsty dogs.

Good sized off leash park in central downtown, though the occasional aggressive dog here and there, majority are friendly fur babies and responsible owners

Nelson Dog Park was only a few blocks from our hotel so we took our small dog on a walk to check it out. The locals were welcoming and we found a group of small dogs to socialize with. As is with many dog parks they don't have the size required to separate the small dogs and large dogs so it becomes a bit of a challenge for both to play together safely. Vancouver is a very dog friendly city and is very dog populated! Through the downtown area there are dog parks and greenspace and they are trying to incorporate more throughout the downtown core, lovely to see a large city focusing on beautification!

Very nice community park with a fenced dog park in the heart of Vancouver's downtown Westend. Dog park has open and treed areas as well as fresh water !

Cece the corgi loves this place! Perfect park to sniff" out new friends. Lots of room to run. Lots of shade too."
