Brittany was amazing. Very attentive and nice. She was very helpful and knowledgeable with the menu. Food was good and Merchants has a nice atmosphere.

Neighbourhood kitchen, great ambience and service. The food used to be a 2 star and has definitely improved to a 3.5, but a great collection of wine, bubbles and spirits does make it a great place for drinks after work and their Wine Wednesdays have always been a hit!

Just love going to Merchant's. We have enjoyed everything we have ordered at Merchant's. We have been here many times and enjoyed meals from their varied menu to specialty menus for St. Patrick's Day when it was very Guinness focused. Every meal is well presented and fresh and perfectly prepared. Pasta is cooked al dente, as it should be. Always fresh and interesting options to choose from. Love that they have a nice wine list and lots of on tap beers as well, including Guinness, as it is my favourite and pairs very well with the Guinness battered fish & chips. Our go-to" restaurant in Calgary. Service is always attentive and friendly. There is also a lovely patio in the front of the restaurant which is open to the main building so you can choose to sit in either area. Parking can be tricky but worth it."

Very nice restaurant. Our server was amazing, friendly, and knowledgeable about the food and drink menus. Good prices and fast service. The lounge area was a little loud with the music and people trying to talk over each other, but overall, an enjoyable experience and atmosphere. Will definitely come back again.

Went here for lunch on a nice day for lunch after seeing their large patio out front.My wife had the Chicken Brie Sandwich that featured sun dried tomato paste, garlic aioli and arugula on ciabatta which she really liked. She had the house salad which she really enjoyed but the $3 extra substitution seemed steep.I had the fish and chips and was surprised how good it was considering it was cod. The batter was thin and crispy which let the fish star in the dish. The french fries were tasty and crispy as well.

Ordered the pan seared scallops. $25 for 4 quarter sized pieces and some dips. Not impressed.

Very busy on a Wednesday evening, I think because of the half price wine.I wish I could remember names (!) but I have to thank the bar staff and the servers. Super polite, chatty and attentive, and despite the busy evening, no part of their service appeared to suffer as a result.I thought this was just another bar, but it is way more than that. I don’t drink any longer, but I went in to meet someone and have a bite to eat. The appetizers and desserts were among the best I have had anywhere.I will certainly be back. Thank you to all those involved!

The food was great. However the customer service was trash. We waited awhile before we called another server just so we could even get water to drink so instead of waiting some more we just ordered our food through her. And when we wanted to pay our bill we were paying in cash and we didn’t want to just leave the cash on the table so the hostess was outside so we told her we were leaving and that the money was on the table. But before we could tell her she made a comment asking us if we paid . Why wouldn’t we pay? Overall I didn’t like the way I was treated. Do better

We went there today with friends. The food was delicious! My carbonara was probably the best I’ve ever tried. The pepperoni and mushrooms pizza was also delicious - real pepperoni. Customer service was sharp and friendly. We look forward to next time.

Just had lunch but the food was spectacular! We had tuna tartar and caprese salad. There was a lunch special that would satisfy big appetites. We skipped the wine special because, well, it was lunch time. Well worth the price which was not outrageous. I wouldn't take young children here, it's definitely an adult vibe. There is parking right in front and the number of vehicles on Thursday at noon is a good sign that people have discovered Merchants.We'll be back!
