TL;DR If you are in the Fort Vermilion/High Level area, this is the place to go. They truly care about animals, are very kowledngle, and will do whatever it takes to help you out.Dr. Stickney has been amazing every visit. He was extremely gentle and nice with both our dogs, a minpin and a pomchi. They have had some bad experiences at another vet, so they are now nervous on the table. However, he took his time with both and made sure they were thoroughly checked. He made sure to answer all of my concerns, and even after all my additional questions, he still asked one more time if he covered everything.Last summer we forgot our dogs medicine as we began our drive across Canada. Dr. Stickney was in NWT and on a day off (I believe), and through text he went out of his way to make sure the prescription from High Level was sent to Edmondton to make sure our dog did not have a seizure.They also dedicated some health concerns that another vet missed. In our pomchi.On top of this excellent service, their prices are fair and reasonable. You do not get the sense that it is a money business. It is a business for the welfare of animals, and that's what counts for them.It is clear that everyone here truly loves and cares about animals. I will always feel good about coming here. I know my pupperz are in the best hands when they are being taken care of by these fine folks.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I boarded my dog/did daily dog daycare for a few months and they went above and beyond to help take care of my dog and work around my unusual hours. They took amazing care of her and she was excited to go every morning.

We were camping in Hay River. Our dog got into something that made her vomit. There are no veterinarians or clinics in Hay River, so I called Mackenzie Veterinary Services. They were so helpful, asked about symptoms, listened to everything I was concerned about. Made some recommendations, and told me if symptoms continued to give them a call. They were extremely helpful, and our dog is ok.

We brought our dog in after she had a seizure like episode , she was in distress with rapid eye movement, and wet breathing. This vet looked her over and said she had someFluid on her lungs and was depressed. I specifically asked if she was going to be ok.She said her exam shows nothing alarming and gave her antibiotics and anti inflammatory meds and sent her away. Within 4Hours she died.
