Jill is the Best Yoga Instructor, I enjoy each session and look forward to the next.Jill gives instruction and helpful comments in the most positive manner. She can spot the smallest detail to assist individuals in their practice.The most important for me is being conscious of breathing! I'm becoming aware of rembering in my daily activities. I have been doing yoga with Jill for 6-7 years and it is truly one of the best things I have ever done for myself, my way of life, and my body. The yoga is not based on poses - it is learning how to listen to your body and learn from it. Jill encourages questions and answers them with great understanding - she will also give a demonstration to make sure you know what she was talking about. Too have a kind, caring and understanding yoga instructor ( who I also consider my friend) is something I am so very blessed to have and am grateful that I found Jill.

I began yoga with Jill in Mexico over 10 years ago. We most recently met up again (virtually) during covid. Her online teaching has been a blessing. Her teaching methods have changed over the years and with it has come a deep understanding of what it is to bring the mind to the mat. Jill teaches not just a series of poses but a kind of philosophy of movement. Internal and external. Her energy and enthusiasm is evident in every class. Her commitment to yoga has helped bring my practice to a new level. And BTW I still have her yoga notes from Mexico days. Thanks Jill.

After semi-retiring and moving to Nanoose in 2011, I wanted to to see if I could find a yoga class that suited me. Fortuitously, I stumbled upon the yoga classes at the Qualicum Beach Senior Centre, where Jill was instructing. I joined to see if her classes might help my chronically sore lower back as well as my arthritic knees.Nine years later, I feel truly blessed to have met Jill and to study yoga with her. Her praise, gentle guidance and unfailing optimism are wonderful teaching tools. After being told by two surgeons that I would need double knee replacements, my knees now give me almost no pain and surgery isn’t necessary. And my back has improved exponentially over the years!When Covid stopped in-person classes, Jill segued seamlessly into streaming. Unlike some other streaming classes I have seen, Jill gives every class and can clearly see each student, giving individual suggestions and encouragement. Additionally she gives extra support in the form of short guided breathing sessions, monthly meditation with Margo, and health suggestions, as well as online Q&A events - and she is always happy to be contacted with individual questions or concerns. I feel she has become a friend as well as a teacher. I know Jill has improved my overall health and attitude - and I will always be grateful for my yoga practice with her!

What brought you to yoga? What were you suffering with?Jon spoke so highly of you, your demeanour, your personality and your practice. While I was working, I was stiff, sore, had little to no flexibility and I realize now, that it had a lot to do with stress. I didn’t know the strain my stress put on my body. My jaw was clenched, my brain going a hundred miles a minute and I just couldn’t slow down. Once away from the classroom and on the brink of retirement, I began your lessons with Leanna. That consistency helped my body and mind to slow down and appreciate breath, gratitude and to recognize the importance of posture and movement.What has been your experience learning with me?Your voice, expertise and natural teaching ability has kept me grounded and confident to try new things and to learn the magic of yoga.What benefits have you felt?My ability to move and to be conscious of my body’s limitations. I used to be a competitive athlete and the damage it did to my muscles, tendons and joints is now catching up. Add daily stressors and I was continuing this downward spiral without truly recognizing the damage it was doing. My flexibility has improved 100%. My balance and mobility is much better, and my importance of breath a priority.Why would you recommend my teachings to others?I have recommended you to many friends. I tell them the positive changes your practices has done for me.What makes my classes special?The consistency, the feedback, the diversity of participants and just having you as a loving teacher….it’s a privilege!

I am ever so grateful Jill decided to do yoga classes online during covid and continues to do so. Her approach to yoga is very different than I have ever experienced and I find it to be much kinder to my body. I have been able to become much more present and aware of what is HAPPENING INSIDE my body than ever before and I find this quite fascinating. Her own awareness of our bodies is such a gift as she shares her observations and knowledge with each and every one of us. She can somehow make a group class very personal and I appreciate that immensely. Although I miss your in-person classes very much, my move away from the island makes it impossible. I am so glad that I can still practice with Jill online. It is a time I look forward to. Many thanks and blessings to you, Jill.

I am so grateful for the guidance that Jill provides in her yoga classes. She offers a perspective of self exploration not often found in the world (enterprise) of yoga today. Membership in the You Are Enough (YAE)" offers a sense of community and regular private yoga sessions in addition to the group classes. The private sessions provide invaluable detailed feedback on a monthly basis. The high level of personal interaction that Jill provides to every participant in the virtual daily classes is remarkable!"
