I highly recommend calling McKinlay & Son Plumbing. Craig came to my home to fix a leaky bathtub drain. He was able to deal with the issue in a timely and efficient manner while also providing my partner and myself with useful tips for general plumbing maintenance. Should I need a plumber again, I will not hesitate to contact Craig again.

Called Craig to have a new-to-us home consultation, after needing to buy quickly in the covid market with no inspections or any idea what was going on in our home plumbing wise. Craig was quick to call back and set up an appointment. He came to our home and answered all of our questions, helped us confidently understand the plumbing in our home, pointed out potential issues, gave us maintenance tips and showed us what things to keep an eye on. He reviewed and inspected all of our plumbing with us, from the kitchen sink through the whole house and into the crawl space. He was very knowledgeable, personable and honest, and taught us a lot! We feel this consultation will save us a lot of future headaches and bills. We are SO happy we called him and can’t believe people go into home ownership without a consultation like this. Looking forward to renovating our home with him as our plumber!

We engaged McKinlay & Son to install three toilets and some small plumbing repairs. I wanted to wait for a few weeks before writing this review to ensure that everything could be thoroughly tested out.We were very happy with the very prompt response to our initial query. Communication was always prompt and clear. We were also very happy to learn that the work could be done as soon as it was (just a few days later). We were lucky that there was an opening so soon.The estimate was very close to the final cost. There was some unforeseen issues with one installation. If I recall correctly, the time was estimated spot-on and the materials were a bit more than anticipated. All in all we felt that the estimate was excellent.Craig freely shared plumbing insights and suggestions that do not lead to more work for him. These comments were welcomed. Craig was also quite clear on what was going to be done, offering us options, and clearly explaining when things didn't go as expected. Craig is very friendly and instills trust in his knowledge and ability.The hourly rate seemed high (we have not hired a plumber in well over a decade) but the work is professional - we cannot fault a single thing. Craig came highly recommended to us and was very quick to respond. He worked with us to find a time that would work for all and made sure to let us know his rates and payment terms during that first call to ensure there would be minimal billing surprises. He was very friendly and professional with us and worked very hard for an entire day to complete the job and get us our kitchen sink back! My son threw a train in our toilet!He came out on Mother’s Day, god bless him.Unfortunately the train was too big to remove but came back the next day and replaced our toilet. Highly recommend.
