On The Bean

As per my previous review for another restaurant, saw this cafe in the same plaza so we went to try this place for brunch the next day. The place has a nice rustic feel to it and looks like this place has been here for quite a while. The owner is very kind and nice and I want to support this place.We ordered 4 take out items (Sat morning):1. Soup of the day - Cauliflower soup. It has strong cauliflower taste in the soup and the soup taste quite natural and creamy! I liked this2. Chicken meat pie - it comes with a salad and the dressing tasted like the Japanese salad dressing you sometime may yourself familiar with, it’s a good thing! Yummy! In terms of the pie, it’s an average quality. I dont know if the pie is home made or bought, the pie crust is quite good and flakey but the chicken is abit dry. Also, the pie is warm on the outside but the middle is very cold (borderline to fridge cold) which feels like it wasn’t warm long enough. Despite all that, the pie is still acceptable.3. Smoke salmon bagel - the portion is generous with lots of avocado! The bagel is quite crunchy on the outside but very soft inside! Goes quite well with the cream cheese and the smoke salmon and the avo! I liked it!4 cappuccino - to be honest, I wouldn’t say this is a good cup but if u r not picky about coffee, it’s an ok cup of coffee but nothing more. I think the choice of coffee bean is what saved this cup of coffee as it gives some nice nutty coffee flavor and aroma. We ordered with oak milk but the oat milk is not foamy and actually feel quite watery. Well you get some big bubble foam on top of the cup but coffee under those big foam, it’s very watery and not creamy as I would expect. Also, I cannot taste any oat milk at all.Price wise is not too expensive, all these items together total to about $45 include tax and everything.All in all, I do like the soup, the side salad, and the salmon bagel… considering the good price, I would give it a borderline 4 stars. I would visit again.

Stopped by to have coffee and sandwich before shopping at Centra and Ones+, I got a cappuccino and the beef-kimchi bagel.

This is a quaint little cafe. My son also loved it. The food and coffee are great and my son enjoyed the lemonade. Stop by and say hi to Frank if you're in the Aurora area!

This is such a lovely little café!The coffee is heavenly. The tea is divine!I'm not normally one to take pictures of my food and beverage, but I just couldn't help myself!But above all else, what really makes this place is the owner, Frank. He is such a sweet, friendly guy, and makes everyone who walks into his business feel like family!

Frank is always so kind, warm, and friendly. The service is quick and amazing. This is my absolute favourite café. The atmosphere is homely and cozy with comfortable seating. The other customers are always courteous too, people speak quietly and are always very polite. Highly recommend this place! I bought a smoked salmon avocado and cream cheese bagel. It is perfect!

Nice and cozy place, people here are very quiet. It’s really a place you can relax and talk with friends. I like their fresh baked muffins and cookies.

WOW! I am so happy I finally walked in this cafe shop! Right from start the owner is absolutely kind and friendly. Made sure I knew the specials and has a variety of coffee/ drinks and food to order from. I had a latte with almond milk no sugar and a toasted bagel with tuna. I cannot stress enough how good my latte was and can’t begin to describe how fabulous and outrageously delicious that bagel was! This place is definitely a gem. That tuna bagel has to be the BEST BAGEL I’ve ever had, hands down!!The owner even gave me a free cookie which was so kind of him. what more can I say! If you are in this part of Aurora please give this place a try you will not regret it, I promise. It absolutely stomps on Starbucks!

Great food. The iced capp is light and not too sweet. Got the smoked salmon with cucumber, avocado and cream cheese on a bagel. The food was fresh and tasty. Great place for brunch. I assume it was the owner working, he is very friendly and helpful.

Everything was absolutely perfect! It was one of the best Avocado on a bagel that I've ever had!

Best coffee shop in aurora. We have been coming to this place every week and enjoyed Frank's food and service for years. It is the best known secret in town.I was appalled yesterday when a rude woman came in with her oversized handbag and coat and complained that there was no where for her to put her stuff and took up other seats and tables with her coat and bag. That's what happens when you have a purse the size of a small suitcase. She made a scene and was very rude. Hope to never see her there again. She ruined the experience for everyone who was there.Thank you Frank for your lovely coffee shop. We appreciate the service you provide the community.
