I tried on and bought my dress when the bridal store was still Winchester's. The lady that helped me find my dress was excellent - she let me try on some of my own choices and then brought me some of hers and I actually ended up buying one of her suggestions. She is the only good part of my story!I bought my dress in September in Halifax but I live in SK and made it very clear that I would not be back to do a fitting until the spring and after that I would only be back a week before the wedding. I had spoken on the phone with the people at the store 3 times between sept and march - they did tell me that they had changed ownership but that I wouldn't even notice the difference. I planned a trip to get fitted for my dress over easter with the tailor and called ahead to make an appointment - the girl on the phone said - no, you don't need any appointment unless you plan to come on a Saturday because that's our busiest day. So, based on her advice I did not make an apt. When I showed up on Monday morning I was shocked and infuriated when I was told that I could not see the tailor because he was on vacation and wouldn't be back until NEXT week. WHAT?! I had called more than once to check and never once was I told that the tailor was away - these people knew I lived across the country and should have been wayyyy more accommodating and upfront about the alterations. Not only that, when the lady was trying to calm me down she even suggested that maybe it was my wording" when I spoke on the phone with the other girl - really?! You know I'm only going to see the dress 2 times before I get married - you don't think I explained that I needed alterations properly!? Before I could leave with the dress
