Greater Victoria Public Library - Nellie McClung Branch

When I lived in Victoria I would come here to study. This is a smaller library and it was pleasant sitting here. On several occasions I had to print something very quickly as well, and the librarians were able to help me out. They also used to hold a book sale here back in the fall, though I don't know if they still do this post-Covid.Unfortunately with Covid this library was shut for a while, and I didn't get to visit here as much as I'd have liked. Wouldn't mind returning here in the future.

The checkout staff have always been a great bunch. Sad to see Arlene retire!2023: Computers have moved out of the activity room and back to old place (pre-2019) outside. The Holds area has moved out of old (pre-2019) computer area. Photocopier/printer moved near computer area (to the left of the self-check out and in front of pencil sharpener). Holds area near audiobook area.2023 March Update: Photocopier/printer moved again and is now near the offices which is to left of the self-check out terminal. The self-check out terminal is now in front of the pencil sharpener.

Stopped in to get information on setting up/better organizing a non-profit organization library. Librarian, Leah, was extremely helpful in GVPL system and an archive-type system. GVPL is not just books!

We had the most wonderful experience getting my teens a library card the librarian was amazing.

Even if this library is a smaller branch, I still love it. It has amazing books you can choose from, study rooms, and it’s quiet! I can also enjoy the fresh air outside as the walk is not too long. I would recommend this library for those who live near the Cedar Hill Road. For me, this would be to-go branch.

This is a great library location for the cedar hill area. Desk staff a very helpful and I have never had a problem trying to find what I need. Great selection of newer items as well which makes it a good place to visit.Always a good experience to get to go to the library for whatever reason

I LOVE the GVPL and Nellie McClung is a wonderful branch with friendly staff!! Love coming here and the selections are great for books / CDs /movies etc.

As my local library branch, the Nellie Mclung library has always had a soft spot in my heart, and i have grown up with this library, seeing almost all of the library at its fullest! The kid section is filled with great younger children-infant reads, with plenty of selection! The seating in the kid section is comfortable, and there is always a free spot! The teen zone is great with close by power outlets, and a decent selection of manga (my favourite) if you like DC/Marvel comics, there are tons here! The staff here is so kind, always willing to give book recommendations. If you choose to put books on hold, they come quite fast! This is one of my favourite library’s of all time, and I recommend people check it out.
