We had a good stay, except the air-conditioner was fitted in the window beside the bed. Made for a noisy night. The food was good but a little pricey.The staff were friendly, but we really only met them at check-in for 10 mins. We would stay again, maybe not in the hot summer.

My wife and I had a fabulous dinner at the restaurant. Service was impeccable. Food was delicious. Calamari was incredible. Will definitely be back.

Hotel Carlyle & Restaurant
While I didn't stay at the hotel, albeit absolutely gorgeous. I did eat at the restaurant and holy hell was it absolutely outstanding.The cocktails were exquisite, the food was beautiful and decadent, the dessert looked top notch, and Clay was a phenomenal and momentous host.If you can make the time and save the cost to come, please do. You won't be disappointed.

Hotel Carlyle & Restaurant
We've eaten at the Carlyle in Port Hope several times now and each time the food and service has been fantastic. It's a great menu with a delicious variety of items. The portion sizes are perfect and we've never left disappointed! It's a great place to meet with friends or family when we have a little day trip from Toronto to explore Port Hope and Northumberland area.

Hotel Carlyle and it’s staff truly deserve this 5 star review. If we could leave a 6, we would.A wonderful location in Port Hope that sits on John St, on the site of an old bank. We stayed in room 3, which was warm and cozy, with wonderful decor and fireplace. Chef Ray excels, with a fantastic menu that delivers a food experience not to be forgotten. Special thanks also to Clay and Ang for making our dining experience a memorable one. We can’t wait for the next visit. Highly recommend!!!

Hotel Carlyle & Restaurant
My friend and I stayed at Hotel Carlyle last weekend. The location is ideal and within walking distance to restaurants and cute shops. We were pleasantly surprised at the room decor (very unique compared to rooms at a chain hotel), but we did find it a bit cold. Thankfully, the beds have cozy blankets and lots of pillows. We woke up well rested and enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend this place.

We enjoyed our meal tonight at the Hotel Carlyle and Restaurant. My husband took me there today for my birthday. We couldn't eat everything and left quite a bit of food not because we didn't enjoy it but the plates were loaded up. Thanks for an enjoyable evening

Eight members of our family went to the Carlyle for dinner last night to celebrate my mom's birthday. Our service was great and the meal was one of the best restaurant dinners I have had! The food was hot, so tasty and unique but familiar. An amazing time, an amazing meal! Oh, and the contemporary, laid back music was lovely and added to the overall experience. Thanks, Carlyle! We'll be back!

A group of friends gather here for dinner quarterly. The food and wait staff are fantastic. This time I booked a room as well. I had stayed there in the past and found it comfortable. Suite 10 ($300 per night) was cold with cement floors and walls and two cow hide type carpets. The back of the leather-type couch was completely tromped down (flattened and misshapen). Nice claw foot tub. The table was bare bones basic and chairs at the table looked like old school chairs from the 70s. When I wrote to the management/owner...as there was no one there at the time to speak to about it....the response was essentially that I had no taste on decor and perhaps I should stay somewhere like The Waddell. to quote...In future
