Red's Bakery

Visited in August with my partner who is very picky about his sweets.Well he liked no nanaimo bar untill we visitedRed's Bakery. That was good enough for me!And for me it somehow brought childhood back.Sat outside in front of the cafe and enjoyed watching life go while munching away and sipping on coffee. I prefer my coffee in porcelain, but still was delicious.I sure recommend!

Red’s Bakery is seriously amazing!My husband and I tried the Oreo cheesecake and we are now making it a weekend tradition to try something new each time.Bakery was in a cute location, very clean & sanitary not very far from the water front! Great affordable prices with a lot to choose from compared to a lot of other places. Highly recommend for anyone who may have a sweet tooth

Red's Bakery is one of the best local businesses around. Their cheesecake is my family's absolute favourite and because of that I haven't tried much else! The staff have always been friendly, chatty and enthusiastic. Being in the downtown they are a business who supports the unhoused, not only by feeding them but by becoming a part of their lives they can count on time and again. I have sat outside a few late evenings and was met with compassion, grace and gratitude. Highly recommend this little gem, for at least the cheesecake! You won't regret the visit

Really appreciated how they're the only bakery open early and late in the area. In all fairness, we only tried their Nanaimo bar in all of Nanaimo. It was delicious. We also tried a quiche and their coffee. Nothing much to say about the coffee, except it seemed to make us more sleepy. I loved the thick crust on the quiche. They had a lot of mousse cakes that I would've loved to try. Will definitely keep on my list to make another visit should I find myself in the area again. Service was fast. Prices very reasonable.

If you like quality and quantity go to Red's! This place has heart. EVERYTHING is delicious and homemade, and they don't overcharge you like many other places in town. The sausage rolls, sandwiches and Nanaimo bar cheesecake is amazing. The staff is attentive and kind. I also love how they are open late!

EVERYTHING looks absolutely fantastic and I had a hard time deciding. Staff was very friendly and described several options. Verdict of the 3 cheesecakes I took home? Too sweet - like not sickly sweet, but like it wasn't tasty enough to enjoy. I hear people rave about Reds Bakery, and say that it's open 24hrs but it's been closed twice when I've been by. I hear next time I go to order the sausage rolls, that their food items are better than there desserts

I am not one to write reviews, but I HAD to write one for Reds! Everything there was amazing… we spent the weekend in Nanaimo and stopped in on our way off the ferry, and went back the next day… and the next day! It was that good. Best sausage rolls we have ever had. Muffins and cheesecake were also 10/10! I highly recommend this place.

No one can beat their Nanaimo Bar.

Came here to only try the Nainaimo bar and varieties of sweets. Had the original cheesecake...I was hesitant to try in order to compare to other bars in the area. Nainaimo cheesecake is one of the most unique and best I've had. The cheesecake is not too sweet, ganache was also not too sweet, cheesecake was light and fluffy. Graham/cookie/coconut base was nicely paired with the rest of the cake to offset the sweetness of ganache and cheesecake. Did not notice any nuts in the base. Big portion, might want to leave room or share. Happy they give you a plastic container to take home and eat again. Other options available such as peanut butter, raspberry, blackberry, banana, and black forest. So many selections for all taste buds. Overall a unique take on Nainaimo bar...for sure a visit when in Nainaimo if you like cheesecake.
