It's small and quiet with friendly staff and pretty cool decor. The food was ok, it tasted fine but there was nothing that made me feel like I need to go back and explore the rest of the menu. They do have a lot of great reviews so maybe I went on an off date.

I had the steak and my wife the fish. Very good though I would have expected a vegetable with my steak.Interesting architecture in the old building though the high ceiling contributed to the loud environment.The menu is limited and priced on the high side.

The first time I ate here I had the duck eggs Benny and it was very dry. A few months later I returned and the food I ordered was significantly better. I enjoyed the chicken and waffles served with apple butter. The chicken is very good! Crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. The waffle could use some improvement. It is pale in colour, limp in aesthetic, and an almost densely spongy texture. I prefer my waffles golden crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The apple butter is good and also served with their Brie which I enjoyed on another occasion. Their muscles in a spicy tomato sauce are my favourite. I was swapped the fries for a salad and I highly recommend others do the same. Their maple dressing is fantastic and they should bottle it for sale. The oysters were good as well but not to my personal taste.I no longer live in the area so I won’t be returning but I would recommend it to someone passing through or to celebrate a special occasion. There are two sides to the establishment, the social which is more casual and the twenty six which is more fine dining. Both share a kitchen and some menu items but each have exclusive offerings. Overall well done.PS the chipotle Aoli is very good! Ask for a side with your fries. Or order the chicken sandwich if you’re fine with using your hands.

My fiancee and I chose to dine here Sunday afternoon excited to enjoy some delicious food and drinks on their patio.Little did we know a wedding happened the night before and apparently cleaned them out of almost every menu item they had.After selecting multiple items and being told they didn't have any brisket (which is half their menu) or scotch eggs. I simply denied to get food. They then brought out my fiancees power bowl" and to our surprise it was bland and tasteless. Shaved veggies over bland quinoa. To charge these prices and offer unseasoned raw veg in a salad is a bit obsurd.Won't be back."

Came looking for some comfort food whilst in the area, it did not disappoint. The servers were friendly and greeted upon arrival. Definitely call and get a reservation as this gastropub is small and intimate!I had the mac and cheese and it was delightful. Creamy, housemade, real milk and finished off in the over with a slice of smoked cheddar. Slightly under seasoned but overall excellent. Salad was neither here not there, vinegrette dressing was fresh. Had a side order of fries which were nice with their housemade basil mayo.My partner had their burger with added smoked cheddar. Burger was cooked to medium and piled high on a brioche bun. Overall, burger was better than average served with a pile of chips and side of housemade mayo.It was nice sitting at the bar and watching the kitchen run! Overall, we had a good service.

Best meal I’ve had in years. Amazing service and truly incredible food and drinks. We split the Brie, pickerel tacos, and scotch egg and was stunned with the artistry in each small dish. Cocktails and dessert were works of art as well! Highly recommend!!

A cute little place in this beautiful little town. Offers a good range of north/American dishes. Although I had the steak and it wasn’t to my liking, everything else ordered was delicious and the service here was extraordinary. You can easily get here and parking is available.

Was there Tuesday night and enjoyed one of the most delicious meals. Food here is too-notch. We were served by a young man who was courteous and simply amazing! This place is a must visit, I promise!

The Social Bar + Table
All the staff members here are so friendly and made our evening in Port Hope special! The food is delicious and front-patio very cute. We are vegan, the server and chef were accommodating and specially prepared some items from the menu vegan and a scrumptious mushroom gnocchi off the menu! The menu is a little pricey but it was honestly worth it. It's not just about the food but also the service our overall experience was fantastic! :)
