I spent my childhood volunteering and working here. I just signed up to be an adult volunteer again and I can't wait to spend time visiting with the residents.

This is one of the best care homes in the city. The environment is clean and looks comfy for the elderly people at this home. They have well trained and experienced professionals Personal care workers who takes care of people at this home. Also, for those looking to gather relevant work experience can visit to join their volunteering program.

It’s an awesome place for elders. They are the best in this. They follow EDEN philosophy. And residents are given choices, proper care, independence, and lots more. Qualified and trained staff stands out in Sherbrooke. None of the residents would want to move out once they reach Sherbrooke. They have veterans village, kinsmen village ( both having 11 houses) and 4 floors and plenty of staff and awesome management. Sherbrooke is Huge.

My mother was abused in this horrible place. Broken bones from being pushed into a bed. Bruises and bite marks(documented). Terrified of staff and begged to be kept in hospital until she could be moved anywhere else. We couldn't wake her up for weeks but no sleeping medication was listed on her chart. She was not seen by the resident doctor, as in spoken to or checked, making rounds or seeing patients can be counted if they simply look into her room. She was hospitalized several times for dehydration; she was partially paralyzed and could not get water for herself. She was humiliated for having a bowel movement in her diaper, which she didn't want to wear in the first place as she could go on the toilet if anyone would bother to take her. They kept telling us they were too understaffed to give her bathroom breaks. At first she liked the place because she got to go outside, have a garden box, electric wheel chair, physiotherapy, outings and more; when she was put in diapers much of this stopped. She was spoken to like she was an idiot and treated like a stupid child. I had an inquiry done after her fits of terror but of course it was done by Sask Health who found No-fault with the nursing home. The day I finally could move her she was taken down stairs for pick-up in a wet diaper and hanging out of her chair with her leg dragging out one side. This place sickens me to think about. If you love your parent or person you need to place in care stay away from this place or make sure you plant nanny cams everywhere in the room.

I take the continuing care program at Sherbrooke. It has been an amazing place for me to learn and get trained. To anyone thinking of getting into health care,I recommend coming to get your 1 year care course here, over any other building in the city of saskatoon. The staff are very kind and professional. The upper management are very helpful and respectful. The residents are full of joy, as Sherbrooke has many opportunities to live life to the fullest. This place gets five stars. Its the best place to live and best place to work!
