Buyer beware !! Started off by promising the world and not delivering against any of them!We signed an agreement in March (‘21) with a promise first for some additional work promised by Harold and nothing to date! No communications, no response to emails or voice messages from either Harold or Kara!Our agreement calls for installation in 12 -14 weeks! 14 weeks is up next week and not a whisper!Do not I mean do not get involved with these people! Take note that not one of their reviews have been posted this year!I saw some postings early by people with the same problems but now they have been removed!!

From a business point of view, your response to Ken Schock’s review on June 10th was not accurate.We are quite aware and Understand the pandemic has delayed the production and installation of our awning. Our frustration is Your Not returning phone calls, messages etc. All we wanted from Custom Awnings is your update on the status of our order. We were in the process of considering purchasing an umbrella to fill in until our awning installation was completed. Since we did not get any further updates, we purchased the umbrella. We spoke three times since March 15th.First was Our Call to you for down payment. Second was Our Call to you to confirm colour etc. Third, was Our Call May 14th to discuss the status of the order. I did a break down on our calls and messages and since March 15th there were 32 calls to your office, home and Howard’s cell leaving messages to call. Please note there were No Incoming calls from Custom Awnings. We then searched the address of your business on your website and drove there last week to see if we could get some response. We arrived to find out no such business at 209 Copperfield Ln. You can imagine what was running through our minds This prompted us to contact the manufacturer to be sure our order had been placed. They assured us our order was placed and delivery should be by the end of the month. Disappointing the manufacturer had to get involved because of No Further Updates from Custom Awnings.Our suggestion is if you are overwhelmed with dealing with customer questions maybe some extra office staff would be beneficial. Or how about a group email blind copied to all your outstanding customers with updates. Use the technology that is out there.

We had Kara and Howard over to take a look at our back deck as we were thinking about having awnings installed. Howard came back promptly with samples for us to look at and we decided on having two awnings installed in our South facing backyard in Mahogany. The awnings were ordered and we paid a deposit. Within two weeks our beautiful awnings we’re installed by Howard and another gentlemen who’s name I can’t remember. Any calls or texts we made were answered in a timely manner! Our Neighbor is also having an awning installed by them next week. I would not hesitate to recommend this company. We are very happy with the look and quality of them! Thank you Kara & Howard

Custom Awnings were able to make the window awnings exactly the way I wanted them, the awnings look very beautiful.They came to help when I had a request for follow up. I recommend them.Thank you Howard.

Unresponsive, unreliable, poor quality workmanship. Project scope: reinstall a CraftBilt sunroom, complete deck extension with rails, soffit, fascia, level deck, window tinting, install 2 awnings. Provided a quote August 2022 to be completed October 2022. Howard did not show up until November 2022 and would not return calls when trying to get an update. He reinstalled the sunroom but did not install the gutter correctly, did not caulk the base, did not install flashing where the roof connects to the house. The awnings were not the color I ordered and were installed incorrectly, they were too close to the stucco posts so the valances frayed withing 2 months and one cannot be adjusted since the crank is jammed against the post. Many, many, many emails and phone calls from November to May without responses. May 2023 the SW wall of the sunroom disconnected from the roof leaving a very unsafe room. Howard showed up on June 14 2023 to walk through the defects and installed a screen we had ordered in Dec 2022 because I was demanding a refund for the screen. To date Howard nor Kara respond to our messages, we have not received replacements for the valances, and have to hire other contractors to fix Howard's defects. On July 8 2023 they sent us an invoice for the final payment on the awnings that are frayed and need to be re-installed.

I was initially very happy with the product but my awning soon began to leak. They keep saying they’ll make a service call, but they don’t come or phone to schedule anything. I would not recommend them at this time.

We were looking for a roof for our deck which is 16x16. After several diffrent companies comming out to Strathmore and providing quotes we decided to cancel our project due to cost and lack of communication between the businesses and customer. After a couple months we found Custom Awnings. From. Day one Kara an Howard provided excellent customer relationships. There prices were were half of what other companies had quoted us for the same design and material. There work and customer service is the best out there. I cant say enough about the people and the company. So don't waste your time looking elsewhere. Call Howard and Kara for all your awning and deck covering needsThanks

Fantastic communication and service from day 1. Kara and Howard were great to work with and we love our new awning! Quality product at a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend!

Howard came to our house in October and promised to install within the next few weeks before the snow came. After giving them a deposit he then proceeded to dodge my calls for the next 6 months. Now its spring and he's decided to answer his phone a few times and keep promising install dates which he does not show for and ignores any incoming phone calls. They are trying to take my deposit and run by the looks of it. Under no circumstances should you deal with this company"To: Kara or Howard

Totally satisfied with all aspects of the work carried out by this company. Both Kara and Howard were great to deal with, they were always responsive and totally professional. I love my new awning!
