Most Jean Coutu's and Maxi et Cie's have a small selection of Shea Moisture products, but nothing beyond that for coily hair. This place has a great selection of products at some of the best prices I've seen here in Montréal. The staff were kind and helpful and I'll be going back to restock when necessary.

I have been going to Mama Africa for over 5 years.This weekend I went to pick up some hair supplies and I asked one of the employees if they carried a certain product that I had bought last year. She didn't know so she went to Mama Africa herself, the owner of the store, and asked her if she knew of the product or something similar. Mama looked annoyed but she showed me a product that she thought I was talking about. I thanked her but explained that it was not the product I was looking for and asked her if she had anything similar since she may no longer carry it. She literally waved her hand at me as though she was shooing me away, turned and walked away from me and sat at the cash, completely ignoring my question. My boyfriend was like I think you bothered her or something. Why was she so rude?" So I just went to the cash

Sooo much variety! Very friendly and helpful staff. Really good prices. Only tiny complaint is one staff member was really opinionated about my color choice of extensions and she talked me out of it. Then I regretted it when I was getting them installed. Stick with your ideas! The hair is going on your head, not theirs! But a great store and I'll be back.
