Highly recommend Richards + Company. Great team, great service, great rates and very knowledgeable. I was very happy with the whole process from start to finish. I will definitely use them again.

I had originally gone to Richards + CO based off of the Google reviews. Unfortunately my experience with them did not go as well.Worst lawyers experience I have ever had. Multiple times via email I had let them know that they had the incorrect amount for my down payment. They made it seem like it wasn't a big deal and these things happen all the time. I completely disagree. You are supposed to represent me on a large purchase and when the client tells you the amount is incorrect then you should look into it.Instead I spent the day I was supposed to receive the keys to my home finding out that I needed to go get another cheque for the amount I had originally told them it should have been, cancelling a larger order of products to be delivered for renos as we could not make any alterations to the home as we did not officially own it, getting the keys but being told we had to pay a rent" fee for each day until the mortgage was finalized.What a nightmare and completely unpleasant experience.Then to top it off I get an email 4 months later stating Alberta Land Titles is behind in registration and that we might owe more money.Needless to say

Got some excellent advice from Darren. He was super responsive in a time where I was really in a jam with a previous employer. What impressed me most about Darren is that when I had a question about fees, he actually got on a phone call to discuss it with me. I really appreciated that because other lawyers I have dealt with pretty much act like you don't exist after the bill comes out. I would happily recommend him to other professionals in need of legal help.

I would strongly recommend Richards + Company to first time home buyers. I was looking into buying my first home and Darren Richards answered all my questions. He provided lots of detailed information that made me comfortable start to finish.

I wish I can put negative 10 stars for this company. I had a transaction to be close by Chad and followed with multiple emails and phone calls. He always said he is too busy to answer phone call while he was the one asked me to schedule one. On day of closing, he still doesn't know what's going on and have not been focusing on my deal at all. He is ALWAYS TOO BUSY to answer anything. My deal was delayed and he is not compensating me nor even apologize for once. During signing the contract, there is no explanation for the agreement and just ask me to sign paper. After it is closed, I was told with conflicting information from the seller vs. Chad. And he is again too busy to answer me or give me a phone call! I will never recommend this company to anyway unless you want to get screwed and pay penalty for closing your deal.

After procrastinating for a long time I went looking for a few lawyers who could do a will. I came across the Richards + Company site and discovered I could complete my will through their on-line questionnaire. It was so simple and thorough, as long as you have thought out who you want as executors and agents in your personal directive and power of attorney you’re all set. It allows you to save and go back and add or modify before you consider it complete and submit with what I thought was a very reasonable price. Once it’s received they put together the documents in legal format and you can review and amend. You then meet up with the lawyer (for me it was Chad and his assistant Taylyn) to sign everything. It was so simple and practical and well explained. I highly recommend that if you want a will, personal directive and power of attorney, go to this website and this legal firm and you’ll be satisfied.

Excellent service! We met with Chad and his assistant to complete our Wills, Power of Attorneys and Personal Directives and are very happy with the process. The accessibility of starting the process online and only meeting once the final changes were done saved us a lot of time as well as thinking through all these important decisions in the privacy of our own home.We are looking forward to working with him again for our real estate needs. My husband and I had the pleasure of dealing with Taylyn and Chad to draw up important estate planning documents. The process was made very easy and user friendly by entering information on the portal at my own convenience.Taylyn was very efficient in setting up meeting times and accommodating our requests and clarification on the process and way forward. Her efficiency and friendliness elevated our experience. It was also nice to be in a thoughtfully decorated offices ( I really like the art on the walls.. lol)Our meeting with Chad was really informative. Chad took the time to develop rapport ( which I always enjoy in service providers) and his explanation of the legal process and verbiage was easy to follow and he was patient with answering our questions. He was clear and highly competent. We did not feel rushed.Estate planning is daunting and we are so happy that our financial advisors referred us to Chad.

This is my first Google review in my life, and I can not control myself to write some words for them. I am not a native English speaker. I got to know the law office by an accidental chance about 7 years ago. Since then I have had services from them for three times. Actually, I have no idea about whether or not I can say that they are the best law office in Edmonton, but from my experience I do know they are the best from a few of law offices I have used. They have a very professional term, working effectively, and taking full responsibilities. Especially I feel they are very nice people. This time, Mr. Caleb Selders worked for me for a lease renewal. He is a student in law. He kept answering my email on time, took my concerns seriously, dealt with the other party's lawyer in a way to try to protect my benefit the best. I am so happy to have such a wonderful experience with him, and with the law office for the third time. During the process, we have had about 80 emails for communications, and I have learnt a lot from Mr. Caleb Selders. He also did a corporate registry search for me upon my request. For the job, he charged me much less than my expectation. If you have no experience with the law office, please try them out. I am planning to do our wills through the law office.

We had such a wonderful experience with Edith, Chad, and Darren. They were able to accommodate our every need including a tight deadline and remote signings. They even coordinated some work with Lawyers here in Calgary. Couldn't have gone smoother or faster and can't say enough about how much we appreciated all their hard work. Looking forward to working with them again in the future and recommending them to all of our friends and family.
