I honestly don't understand how a company like this is even allowed to exist in Canada. We were approached by a sales person who came to our door and made us believe he worked for Enbridge. He went on about an environmental incentive, and that we could only get this credit if we signed with them. He told us it came with a Google home product of our choosing, as an incentive to get people to sign up. Little did we realize he was signing us up for a 10 year rental on a Google Nest at $100 a month. It is now costing us $2000 to get out of this contract (and this is the reduced price). I hope this will warn others of how crooked this company and its salespeople are. Do not sign any contracts with Summitt, it is 100% a scam.

SCAM! Will offer flat rates 24hrs but do not mention added costs and fees that will drive your bill up.A major red flag should be how the customer service is so concerned about the protocol of the sales reps. They know they are using still tactics that I'm almost sure caused them to be fined in the past.I was stupid enough to sign with them and immediately regretted it.To try to make a long story short:Get out of the contract as soon as you can. Do not let the ten days go by as they say they need that time to process everything when really all it accomplishes is passing the time frame for you to back out of the contract (as per the Consumer Protection Act).After reading so many reviews and comments about how people had a hard time cancelling this is what I did and got a cancellation confirmation within 12 hours:I wrote a letter referencing my right to cancel within the ten day 'cooling off' period to be effective immediately and sent it via registered mail. I also told them that this letter would be emailed and faxed.I faxed the same letter to the fax number on the Summit energy contract and saved and scanned the fax receipt confirmation.I then emailed the letter and CC'd the following:Ontario Energy Board, The Toronto Star & Sun, Premier Kathleen Wynne, Hydro One, and the BBB.Like I said, within 12 hours they confirmed the cancellation.I sent all documents to the Ontario Energy Board and the lady I spoke to start a file for me and added everything. I also sent everything to Hydro One to confirm that they should now, moving forward, not allowed Summit Energy to make any changes to my account on my behalf.I hope this helps!Good luck!

Stay away from these people. They are a total scam. Their guys came knocking on my door, pretending to be official government employees. Asking to see my hydro bill and convincing me that they are here for my own benefit by protecting me" from the high rates! The huge scam is the guy didn't tell me that I have to pay around $200 for the cancellation fee! Anyway

They showed up at my door at 7:15pm with no notice or invitation. Claiming they need to confirm something on my Hydro bill, 2nd or 3rd page. I asked why that couldn't be checked on the back end from an office and he seemed stunned. I asked for a card and he handed me a blank card with no rep name or rep number. Cleary a scam.

Had two young sales reps come to my door in St. Catharines stating they needed to look at the white pipes and tag on our rebuilt high efficiency furnace. I had recently bought the house with no information about this company they said they wanted to make sure I was getting a rebate, why couldn’t this be done over the phone as looking at a furnace will not translate into confirming that rebates transferred into my account. After seeing a lot of reviews and noting that the house I bought was owned by an elderly man it seems like this company is looking for easy targets for expensive and contracts. Just the fact that these guys came in close contact with my and my girlfriend during a global virus pandemic shows some kind of disregard for the wellbeing of others. Anyways maybe this was a scam as I asked to see their business card and the guy showed me an ID card saying he is is with Google nest , no direct cards affiliated with summit energy, very strange.

Two years ago they had two salesman’s came to my door and said I can install my thermostat for free and a home monitoring camera $10 each month for just one year term. I thought that was a good deal so I allowed them to installed. Now this company is still charging me $40 from Enbridge and nonstop! Someone please help me stop their scamming!

We didn't realize he was renting us for 10 years from Google Nest for $ 130 a month. Now it's costing us $ 4,000 to exit from this contract (and that's a discounted price). Hopefully this will alert others to how dishonest this company and its sellers are. Don't sign any contracts with Summitt, it's 100% a scam.

They came around, saying they've been on my bill see right there" that they provided me with a service I never signed up for personally I told them they'd never supplied me with any of these things they were claiming and that I wanted to cancel.. apparently its also 200 to get outta their service.. now I have ended up with not one but 2 canceled summit energy charges of 200$ on my credit history. One big elaborate scam."

An absolute scam. A pushy salesperson showed up at my front door over 10 years ago and MADE me sign a contract for energy services. He said I HAD TO SIGN IT and that I didn't have a choice. He also promised huge savings on my energy bill. Not knowing what I was signing I signed the contract. Shortly after I moved out of that house to another area and signed up with another energy provider in the area. I cancelled my contract with Summit and they charged a massive cancellation fee. I refused to pay it because I didn't know what I signed and this is clearly a scam. 10 years later and I receive several calls per week from collection agencies. I have literally received thousands, THOUSANDS of phone calls to pay for a cancellation fee for a bogus contract from over 10 years ago. Do not do any kind of business with this company. They should all go to jail!!!

New Water Heater InstalledSummit installed my new water heater on June 11, 2018. It was a fantastic experience. I was able to schedule installation for next day morning after noticing my old enercare water heater was leaking . Very happy and would use them again.
