Great local owned business! We started coming here because they have crickets and quickly switched our cat to one of their dry foods too. He recently had to have all his teeth removed and I came in looking for wet food options. I bought a few different types and the owner said if there were any unopened cans of flavours he wouldn’t eat, I could exchange them. I took her up on that offer a few days later and she was true to her word. Excellent service. Oliver’s is consistently our first choice pet store in Nanaimo!

All you need for pet supplies in an easy to get to store with plenty of parking. Not related. Ha

The friendliest most helpful staff, and the owner is a true sweetie. Huge selection and if they don't have it they see if they have an alternative. Also handling Covid-19 situation well, have felt very safe there. I buy all my dog food and pet supplies there.

The owner (Valerie) is wonderful. She looks after her customers. She makes sure they're buying the right thing for their pets. She's helped us out of a few binds with the cats! Please give Olivers your patronage.

I'd give 4 stars if staff were more friendly but I ALWAYS have to ask for help before I'm even greeted which feels awkward and like I'm intruding on them on the computer. Decent selection, but don't always have things in stock, ie cat grass, certain cricket sizes, so have to go up to Pet Smart even though I'd prefer to small business.

Helpful and friendly staff. They went out of their way to help me choose a new food for my cat who needs a specific diet as advised by our vet.

My family & I have been a customer of this store for decades & love the customer service given. Val always asked about our wee dog when we didn't bring him in. I am shocked to hear some people didn't feel there was good customer service. I have always felt like family there. Great neighbourhood store. Shop local!

I decided to check this petstore out because of the good google reviews but my experience was anything but. When I came in I was greeted but then quickly ignored as the staff were gossiping about another co-worker, I had mentioned I am getting a brand new puppy and have never been there before and yet still no help.. When I had eventually made my way around the store I was near the front counter and the staff decided to take 5 steps away and continue their gossiping because they did not want me to overhear what they were saying, (news flash the store is small enough to hear anything you are talking about from anywhere in the store). After my quick initial greeting I had noone come and ask If I needed help or any type of customer service whatsoever. I have visited multiple pet stores in the past week and this one was by far the worst. (The best being animal magic north nanaimo, check this out before even considering going to Olivers)I will not be going back as there is nothing special with this store compared to all the others.If I could leave less than 1 star I easily would.

A well stocked and cared for pet supply store! Staff is super friendly and helpful. If they don't have it, they'll order it.
