The owner Sue is not very friendly. My daughter tried to get an interview for a summer job this year. And although she has not had a job before, she loves wild birds and has a pretty extensive knowledge base about a number of wild birds. My daughter has some cognitive delays, which I told Sue about, and because of this, I as her mom, helped get the application into Sue on behalf of my daughter.Sue told me she was not impressed with my daughter due to the fact I was the one sort of steering the ship , but I have been her advocate her whole life. I told Sue from that point on my daughter would have direct communication with Sue, for that is what Sue wanted to have. And I apologized for getting overly involved. When I stopped in to drop off the application, Sue told me she felt my daughter would not be a good candidate because when we first met Sue at the store my daughter was not extremely talkative. Teenagers can be like that, they normally will present a better picture of themselves when alone and not with their parents.Sue went on to say that she would review her application and set up an interview. She told me she would call my daughter directly after a few business days. Sue never called her to set up an interview. . My daughter is extremely friendly and could have been a great asset to this store. Sue , never even gave her a chance for an interview, because she felt I was too involved. My daughter has some cognitive delays, she was a student that has an IEP, and just graduated from High School in Minnetonka. Sue could have at least given her a chance to interview. My daughter, Danielle Brown is 19 and would have easily been trainable and would have helped customers find what they were looking for. the store is quite small. Anyone who knows her loves her and knows she is fully able to do work that is explained to her. But Sue would not even give her the chance to interview. Who does that???Lastly, Sue said she wants all her employees to be friendly when customers come into the store. My experience has been just the opposite, no one is that friendly at the store. And a gal I know who worked there for a few years, recently quit. I wonder why. The prices are too high, and their service is not out of this world. I would tell you to go to any other wild bird store but this one. Ya can even get a much better deal on bird food at Menards.

Been going to the old location for years. Just stopped into the new location and love it!
