The Bagel Class

Awesome class. Will is a great instructor! Highly recommend. I cannot wait to make Montreal bagels in my Nova Scotia kitchen.

Yeast is yeast, malt is malt, and bagels are simply fantastic,Will is a baker who teaches bakers to bake without being dull or bombastic.The perfect round snacks are made chewy and seedy,Without wasting flour or being too kneady.The secrets we’re told are technique and honey,But not too much wet stuff or your dough will be runny.Measuring we’re told is also essential,If you measure by volume, your dough has less potential.Grams, mls and kilos will make bagels that please,But when it comes to good teachers, Will’s the big (cream?) cheese.Will’s of the view that Canucks’ reviews blowWhereas Europeans’ reviews seem always just so.Having lived overseas he says we’re less erudite,but for my friends and I we were ready to fight.All of us are degreed and big scrabulous nerds,So we composed this review using big fancy words… so there.Seriously though, Will is a master baker and an awesome teacher. This is a great way to spend a few hours in Montreal! Big, warm, socially distanced hugs from Zoe, Colleen and Greg!

I had a blast at this class. Will was funny, sweet, and incredibly knowledgeable about his craft. The instructions were clear, the bagels came out wonderfully, and the atmosphere was fantastic. I would enthusiastically recommend this class to anyone looking for a unique and fun experience in the heart of Montreal’s residential neighbourhoods, and will definitely be telling all my friends about it.

Super fun activity for families and couples! Bagels turned out great. The course is about 2 hours long. Any human can do it, even those with nothing but thumbs.The teacher is very knowledgeable, and he adapts the instructions to your baking skills. He is also very funny so the attention is maintained.The COVID guidelines were well followed too. We only took off our masks when we enjoyed our works on the rooftop.

The class was fun and Will was a great host/instructor! We would definitely recommend it!

This was one of our favorite experiences on our trip to Montreal. Will was so fun and it will be great to take this skill back and make fresh bagels to remind us of our trip. Highly recommend!!

A couple of years ago we had a bagel while in Montreal and both my wife and I were amazed at how good it was so when we knew we were going back to Montreal she found this bagel making class and signed us up for it. I was looking forward to it but like other cooking classes I've taken before didn't expect a lot from the class other than making some bagels and walking away with a recipe to use later. Boy was I wrong! Will did such an amazing job of explaining the science behind baking, giving instruction on how to mix the ingredients, kneading the dough and rolling out the bagels and the bagels we ended up making were delicious! Will is an excellent teacher, adding humor and insight into the class. If you're looking for something to do in Montreal and you like Montreal bagels, I would highly recommend this class. Oh and if you do go, remember o ask Will to introduce you to Steve!
