Furever Friends Dog Rescue of WNY

Furever Friends is a wonderful rescue! We have two dogs from them. Our husky and now an Aussie. The volunteers clearly care a lot about these dogs. It’s wonderful to know that they have changed the lives of many dogs that otherwise would have had an unfortunate and inhumane fate. Thank you for all you do! People hesitate to adopt rescued mill dogs. What they don’t understand is that it is incredibly rewarding to show these dogs what life is like out of those horrible conditions. When you put in the effort, you will see how truly grateful they are to be loved. Never be hesitant to adopt a rescue!

After losing my precious Shitzu last summer, I wanted a new pup to keep me company. I filled out the application and indicated my choice of breed, a Yorkie, a Maltese or a Shitzu. The following day, I was contacted by Furever Friends and was told they were getting a number of Maltese pups from Ohio the following week.Bailey (Ada) joined my family on January 14th, 2022 and has been a joy. She was already spayed due to complications during childbirth so I was able to adopt her outright. I was a little nervous bringing in a pup from a puppy mill, not knowing how she was treated and how she may behave. I was thrilled to find that Bailey was so well behaved. She was a little skittish at first, not quite trusting me when I went to pick her up. Other than that, she’s housebroken, paper trained, gets along with my sons Shitzu and cat, she doesn’t bite and rarely barks, is playful, sleeps in my bed, and warms up to me at night. I couldn’t be more in love with her. I wouldn’t hesitate to foster to adapt another pup from Furever Friends Dog Rescue of WNY.Thank you Furever Friends for a wonderful experience.

They rescued my Fred Astaire back in the day. They do a great job getting pups out of horrific puppy mills!

The air conditioner was broken so it felt over a 100 degrees inside. Plus girl in back kept getting orders wrong. You place a order for chicken and fish she put all fish in. Just not a good experience at all.

Customers were very pleased. And fostering now and love it. Everyone was wonderful! Thank you!

We were told the dog that we adopted was a breeder release-I asked MANY times for more information on the dog-that’s all they knew. Breeder release. As it turned out she was a puppy mill dog that needed a lot more care than I knew how to provide. They did no evaluation of the dog prior to handing her over to me-I literally was there waiting for her when the transport van pulled in the driveway. I got no helpful tips on dealing with a dog like her. Be aware that almost all of their dogs are from puppy mills-some from the Amish. These are not breeder releases like you’d think. When I think of a dog breeder I don’t think of a puppy mill. I think most legitimate dog breeders would be quite turned off to know that this rescue is calling the puppy mills a dog breeder. When I asked for help I was told that their rescue “has no fosters and no behavior specialists.” In other words, the dog you get might be a beautiful and potentially well adjusted dog or it might be a dog that needs a professional- and either way you’re on your own. Heartbreaking for my family.

What an amazing rescue operation for dogs! They travel great distances to rescue poor abused animals and go to great lengths to make sure they find good homes. They recently matched me to a beautiful Bichon who never had known anything but a tiny cage and making babies. She is an amazing little girl that will be provided with a good home.
